Early Life
Born in Cap Au Diable on July 20, 1978 Ramos was the only son of an illegal arms smuggler and a drug dealer. Witnessing both of his parents get shot in raid at age 5, he developed hoplophobia (fear of guns). Orphaned, his grandfather Ben, a welder, took custody of Ramos and raised him in Mercy Island. As a youth, Ramos spent most of his time at home, reading encyclopedias and playing darts. In June 1996, he graduated from Mercy High School and enrolled in the Rogue Island Police Academy, where he received an B.A. in Criminology.
A recent interview has Ramos reflecting, "...When I came back from the academy, Grandpa knew i was still afraid to hold a gun. He presented me with these gloves in a shoebox. He said he was gonna give these (flat blades) to my father to keep us safe, but he died before Grandpa had a chance to finish them...So now he's giving them to me to keep me safe..."
Career
Rogue Island Police
After his grandfather's death on May 29, 2002 Ramos moved to Cap Au Diable, where he worked as a peace officer with Rogue Island Police. Earning a reputation of diligent work and street-saavy attitude, was given an undercover assignment to map out smuggling routes in Rogue Isles in August 2006. Spanning 3 years, the operation ended on the night of the St. Martial Bust.
St. Martial Bust
The St. Martial Bust was an unplanned raid conducted by Rogue Island Police on November 21, 2007. The incident brought local attention to Detective Ramos for his superhero-like performance in the operation. According to various sources, Detective Ramos single-handedly brought down an army of smugglers after an informant blew his cover.
An interview with an inmate arrested in the bust describes the event, "...It started when the boss slashed his face. These two swordlike things came out of (Ramos's) hands, And he started kicking everyone's @$$...we shot him, threw grenades at him, the bastard just wouldn't go down...he was like some kind of freak! Next thing I remember I was in handcuffs, with all these cuts on my arms and legs...I couldn't even stand up..."
The raid resulted in the recovery of over 145 million dollars in stolen artifacts and 97 arrests and convictions, Rogue Island Police's 2nd largest bust to date.
Paragon Police Department
Unfit for undercover work due to the scarring he received in the raid, Ramos continued service as head of Rogue Island Police's Illegal Trade Unit. Disdained with the eventual corruption of the Rogue Island Police, Detective Ramos moved to Steel Canyon and transferred to Paragon Police Department's Customs Unit in May 2008.
