Childhood
Keith Yamashita Grew up in a rather privileged family, His Father owning a large software corporation , while his mother worked as a nurse at Crowne Memorial. He usually was often when both were busy at their jobs under the tender loving care of his grandparents Mr and Mrs Hideyoshima. Most of those years as a child with his grandparents were rather found memories of his , he remember them telling stories of his ancestor Daichi Hidoyoshima and his Heroism and tragedy as well. Filling his head with dreams that one day he too , might take the mantle of the family and actually become something that he would only dream of , a super hero. His grandparents even gave him some Kenpo instructions and sparing teaching him the discipline and respect needed to wield a sword , telling him of the horrors that he might face when taking on the family mantel , Daichi's Sword. He was roughly around eight this didn't bother him at all , he thought it was a great adventure that soon one day when he was older would embark upon with glee.
However , this dream was crushed by his Father one day Keith's Father came home from work furious at the Grandparents for telling him these stories and filling his head with such nonsense. He told them they will never babysit for his child ever again. Keith was told to forget about everything his grandparents told him and be focused on more tangible goals , "heroism is a un-rewarding job that will leave you in the gutter somewhere". Keiths being so young was traumatized by this action by his father and hates him to this day for that and might never forgive him for it.
High School Years
As Keith Grew older a babysitter was no longer necessary , often times he snuck out late at night to visit his grandparents and to assist with their shop. Thankfully he never was caught , his mother knew however but didn't tell his father. Keith went through high school isolated , alone and ridiculed everywhere he went, however he was incredibly successful with all of his classes even Physical Education. He was offered several chances to join his high schools football team but he passed them over. He often was running the schools newspaper , debate team and anime club, he chose to keep himself away from people. However when he was approached by anyone he was thoughtful , polite and courteous.
Thats what landed him his first girlfriend , the schools newspaper rolled out their "Mr. Nice Guy" award Keith couldn't be any happier for once he was noticed and people liked him. He was even offered to go to the prom with her , however he heard a conversation she had once about "how pathetically gullible he is" and "yeah so easy to cheat on him". Just a month before the prom he gathered up the courage he could muster and walked up to her and dumped her saying "I'm sorry , but I don't date people who like to rip peoples hearts out". but his girlfriend took that story and spun it around making herself the victim putting Keith into a hole of ridicule again. However , he did as he always did when faced with adversity , he picked himself up , brushed off and squared his shoulders for the task ahead. He graduated high school , the top of his class walking away smiling , and his Grandparents and mother Proud of him.
His Grandparents offered him to take up the family business running the shop however his father stepped right in the middle of that offer and told him that he would be going to college on the grants and scholarships he has earned. Keith was furious with his father once again , however he kept in , telling his grandparents once hes finished his degree , he would be back. Bitter , and alone once more he headed to the university at steel canyon taking a degree in finances as his father instructed.
College
Even though he was at college Keith tried with this time away from his father , keep his dreams alive , taking a few art classes , and getting as many comics and manga as he could muster. College wasn't as bad as his years in high school , people left him alone he avoided the frat parties because of his age. He even managed to keep up with his grades even with all of the hobbies he had taken in , his grandparents calling every now and then checking to see if he was alright. He never got a single call from his father , maybe his mother on an occasion but he usually rarely got calls from anyone during his sophomore year.
Keith even though being as successful at academics in college he still felt alone and it was only going to get worse
Tragedy and Return to Atlas Park
At the end of Keith's sophomore year he got a call from his mother. A call he really didn't want to hear , his grandparents were murdered and the store was broken into thankfully nothing was stolen.The Store was a wreck when he got there , he cleaned it up as best as he could , by himself without any assistance from anyone. Even his grandparents funeral was rather empty with the exception of his mother , Keith couldn't feel even anymore alone. Keith was enraged at this dad for what he did , but what came next made him furious, His father wanted him to sell the store and everything in it.
They argued Keith Caved in and accepted his fathers commands, However Keith had something else in mind. Keith knew of Daichi's Sword and figured it'd be worth a fortune to a museum so he figured he'd clean and restore it and then auction it off to any museum at the highest bidder. Maybe then with the money earned he could keep the store for himself and run it like his grandparents did. However that didn't quiet go to as planed.
As he was cleaning the sword , the sword glowed with a bright golden aura Keith , curious , grabbed the sword by its hilt and said the vow his grandparents once taught him to say when he was a child (Said in Japanese) "I Keith Yamashita , hereby take this duty of bearing the great Garou Spirit
Daichi Hideoyoshima , I will follow his teachings and instructions and serve Gaia
Proudly as a Fellow Kinfolk assisting whenever I can and serving Justice to the wicked and unjust" The Sword's Spirit then manifested through Keith and Keith then felt a surge of power he couldn't explain along with a wave of emotions that washed over him. Turns out Daichi Manifested earlier than expected for the sake of Keith's Protection. The bound was complete though , Keith was bounded to the blade by birthright and of the vow , as an act of submission. Keith was terrified , yet overjoyed at the same time at what he has done. He's taken the mantel of the bearers before him and realizes the responsibility of this and feels he's unworthy of it. but now he has to answer the call of Daichi and follow, for once his dreams that he believed to be once dead are now alive again.
and now . . .
Keith has now taken the full path of Daichi's tutelage also knowing that his father is responsible for the death of his Granparents and possibly his mother. Also now aware that Black Spirals are after him he now knows the urgancy of Daichi wanting him to be fully prepared before even considering engaging them and pursuing his father. But Keith will be patient and follow Daichi's example and wait, not wanting to strike down his father in the name of vengeance but for the protection of Gaia and all Garou.
