The Rendering

Rendered VV Pic.jpg

Rendered is a Level 50 Martial Arts/Super Reflexes stalker and has a magic origin. She spent most of her life as a normal human, though she was a fairly talented athlete. After graduating from college, Rendered ended up in Europe working as a scientific consultant for a security firm. Most of her co-workers were metahumans, but Ren's quick mind and background in chemistry made her a very useful part of the company. While on assignment investigating the disappearance of another employee from the firm, Ren and her team came into contact with a collection of ancient Persian artifacts. In the course of interacting with those artifacts, Rendered and the others unlocked a spell that had been protecting the items from interference. The nature of the magic has never been clearly understood, but those who were touched by the curse gained new or improved powers. Of course, each of them received a case of fatally bad luck as well. Since Ren was the last to come into contact with the magic, she received the least potent amount of exposure and has managed to survive despite the rest of her team perishing over the course of about twelve months. Naturally, she's high on the list of suspects since she's the only surviving member of that original team.

The effects of the curse on Ren have made her more nimble, stronger, and able to conceal herself from sight. The magic is also making her a little crazy and just a bit bloodthirsty.

Details, Details

  • Rendered's full name is Avery Callahan McBride, though she rarely tells anyone that anymore. She'll generally ask people she's associating with to call her "Ren."
  • She was born in Sioux City, Iowa on June 10, 1985, and lived on her family's farm until her parents died in a car accident when she was about five. After that, she and her older brother moved in with their aunt's family.
  • Rendered attended University of Iowa on a full scholarship and participated all four years of college on the women's gymnastics team. She was quite good on the balance beam and uneven bars.
  • Ren doesn't own a tv, preferring to read books or listen to music when she has free time. Her apartment is stuffed with bookshelves, full of both fiction and non-fiction works.
