Bonne Blinkwidget III is a magic sprite, currently operating in Paragon City as an investigator of magical anomalies. She is known for her whimsical nature and optimistic attitudes towards even the most dire of situations, and her ability to utilize arcane energies as either projectile weaponry or as a modifier towards the physical properties of people, places, and things via enchantment. She is also able to conjure many physical objects, although limited in size and composition.

History

Bonne Blinkwidget III, although no previous Bonne Blinkwidgets are known to exist, is a member of a faerie offshoot race known to most as sprites. While much of her life before her discovery is unknown, it is established that Bonne was born in a secluded forest in the vicinity of Maine, to parents Bozzle Budgewink and Nit Dazzlefling, both members of the area's magical council; chosen to both protect magical influence and teach those intrigued by it's power. Studying to become a part of the council in her early years, Bonne became disinterested in fairy politics and worked towards becoming an enchanter instead. In what is called her "motif" chosen at her 500th birthday, she chose to theme herself upon the jovial circus performers called clowns, a popular human form of entertainment at the time.

Bonne was first discovered by the public in 2005, during a conflict between several heroes and a small cult that shot off from the Circle of Thorns. According to witnesses, she appeared in the midst of battle seemingly out of nowhere and demanded it cease, interrupting the fight. When she was not paid any attention, she began to scream loudly and shout obscenities, which eventually became violent outbursts against the cult. Baffled by the actions of the strange being, the heroes involved finally stepped forth again and overtook the bewildered cult, arresting them along with Bonne. While held for two days in Steel Canyon's police station jail, she was questioned by several officers and heroes on the events and her reasons behind the interruption. She pleasantly explained her situation, albeit in a tall-tale sort of manner, introducing herself as Bonne Blinkwidget III and referring to the "dummy-head cultists" and their "craptastically dressed leader" evoking evil magic from supposed "aligned" ley lines; magical structures beneath the Earth used to draw magical energies. She then offered an apology extended to the police station and the heroes involved, as well as an order of sixteen pizzas for the districts consumption as a gift (which was denied, but appreciated). Bonne was then released.

It wasn't until March of 2008 that she reappeared again, beating the Paragon Police Department to an emergency call in Founder's Falls. Reports are hazy on the exact details of the encounter, however it is known that police arrived on the scene only to see a small group of five individuals belonging to the Carnival of Shadows tied feet first to the ceiling, over a small kiddie pool filled with Boston creme pie filling, and a proud-looking jester presiding over the trap. Miss Blinkwidget was again taken into custody on the suspicion of ties to the Carnival, however, was entirely cooperative in her questioning. upon her release, Bonne immediately registered with Paragon City as a hero, but was not approved until the following year in January, due to attendance issues for appointments, lack of local housing and at least one instance of magically changing an elected official's hair to neon blue following a disagreement. Since her acceptance, she has also registered with MAGI as part of an investigative unit, focusing on the research, protection and understanding of the ley lines that are prevalent througout the East coast. Bonne's current residence is unknown, although she often frequents Steel Canyon, presumably staying with others.

Television Series

In January of 2011, Bonne was approached by executives of the Paragon Broadcasting Company, a local access television channel, to star in a new early morning children's show. Tenatively titled "Blinky's Big Top", the series will feature Bonne as "Blinky", a fun-loving clown who puts on an act for a live audience of children, inviting them to play games for door prizes and showing various short cartoons, as well as segments of her own writing such as a story-telling feature, a magic show, and an educational segment. Bonne and the network have come to an agreement dealing with her duties as a Paragon hero, and will sometimes substitute the character of Blinky with a select few "substitute clowns", should the need for her sudden departure or absence arise.

Personality

Blinkwidget's personality is based upon what she calls her "motif": a jolly court jester. She is often found cracking jokes, playing pranks and causing merry mischief, and is usually accompanied with a friendly, optimistic attitude even under the most stressful of situations.

A few reports from local eyewitnesses have claimed to see her under severe angst, and she has been known to have bouts of violent outbursts, and at least on one occasion has been accused of destroying several vehicles in the process. The cause of her short, but sudden mood swings is unknown at this time. While it was suggested to her by doctors to seek psychiatric help, she refuses, stating stress-related issues.
