Dale-Man/Alternate Endings

From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe

Jump to: navigation, search

When City of Heroes was shut down, an ending for Dale-Man was written. After this, alternate endings were written; some to end the story differently, some to allow Dale-Man's story to continue elsewhere. With the impending return of City of Heroes, all these endings are now non-cannon.

Original Ending (Happy Ending)

For years the threat of The Coming Storm loomed. Heroes became Incarnates. Villains became Incarnates. Dogs and cats became Incarnates. Most important of all, Dale-Man was an Incarnate. In fact, there were two Dale-Mans who were Incarnates. The Battalion felt they could handle one Dale-Man, but two was out of the question, so in their crippling fear they decided not to attack Earth. (See also: God Modding)

The world went on. Nemesis kept plotting, Hamidon kept trying to rid the world of people, Lord Recluse kept trying to take over the world, Statesman stayed dead, plots moved forward; but ultimately, things stayed the same.

Dale-Man kept getting richer and more powerful. Dale-Man (II) kept Dale-Man Inc. in line. Dr. Braininajar kept trying to take over the world, but kept saving it in his spare time. Radical won a surfing competition. Full Shell ate a lot of pizza. Captain Zooom returned to the year 1980. Also, Dale-Man married Ms. Liberty. (See again: God Modding)

And they all lived happily ever after.

The End

Alternate Ending 1 (Scooby-Doo Ending)

The police have The Battalion in custody.

"Now to find out who he really is!"

They take off the mask to reveal he is Old Man McGinty.

"... and I would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for you meddling kids!"

"Scooby-Doo!"

And everybody laughs.

The End

Alternate Ending 2 (Bad Ending)

Let's go back to the original ending! More specifically, that last paragraph!

Also, Dale-Man married Ms. Liberty. (See again: God Modding)

And they all... oh my God! It's the Battalion! They're attacking us! Oh the humanity! Oh the burning! Whyyyyyy! Urrrgl...

Alternate Ending 3 (Champions Ending)

Dale-Man (II) and Captain Zooom revealed themselves to be Battalion spies. They killed Full Shell and Radical and took off to their mothership. Since they were infused with Incarnate power, they were thrown into the engine and used as fuel. Dr. Braininajar went way underground to enact his plan for world domination. Dale-Man fought against the Battalion invasion.

Ultimately, the heroes and villains were unsuccessful in their fight against the Battalion. They all died in a really painful way. The Battalion prepared to absorb the Well of Furies.

Meanwhile, Dr. Braininajar was way underground using his evil machine and managed to absorb the Well first. He then used Rularu technology to absorb all other wells in existence and ultimately, The Battalion itself. In that moment Dr. Braininajar successfully ruled over all of existence. He then proceeded to rewrite all of existence in the way he wanted when the ghost of Statesman showed up and interfered, instead rewriting existence into the world of Champions Online.

Dale-Man's insane regeneration allowed him to survive the complete rewriting of existence. (Once again: God Modding) He became irradiated and bit into that universe's Dale Mann, merging into him and giving him powers. Not only did Dale-Man now have history in the Champions Universe while remembering the CoH Universe, but his origin literally involves him being bitten by a radioactive Dale.

Alternate Ending 4 (Secret World Ending)

Same as Alternate Ending 3, except Dale-Man of the CoH Universe becomes Dale "Dale-Man" Mann of the Secret World Universe.

Alternate Ending 5 (St. Elsewhere Ending)

It all takes place in Tommy Westphall's head.
