Powers
Retributive Justice
Presently preferring the appearance of an Axe, Retributive Justice is the source and reason behind Tom's 'powers'. Forged in forgotten eons by blood, magic and sweat as a force for justice it has been lost and recovered hundreds of times by various civilizations. Each time it takes a new shape, but each time it begins the same way: a crime is committed and the weapon takes the soul of the fallen to bring justice. In addition to its shape shifting the axe seems to be indestructible and grants the soul within it a corporeal form with various magical powers as their bond grows closer.
Dark Armor
Retributive Justice can shroud the corporeal body in several layers of shadow which protect and assist the body. These shadows are the reclaimed essences of the spirits it has brought justice to, imprisoned as a portion of their punishment.
- Moderate protection from all forms of weapons and attacks (bullets, lasers, mental attacks, etc).
- A field of negative energy that slowly kills all life within its reach.
- The screams of the imprisoned souls reach out into the minds of those around the body. Even those with shielded minds or apparently no minds are still disoriented by the madness.
Leaping
Reliant on the manifested body to transport it, the axe grants the form the ability to alter its mass, allowing superhuman leaping abilities.
Shapeshifting
Retributive Justice can alter its form at any time. Though it seems to have chosen an axe for this cycle, the appearance of that axe can shift subtly or drastically in a moment.
Durability and Endurance
The body manifested by Retributive Justice, in this case Tom's, is both more sturdy than a normal human and capable of prolonged effort and strain. However, the body still consumes energy at a prodigious rate.
Weaknesses and Limitations
Tom's new "life" has not made him invulnerable to anything, simply more durable and protected. Thus he can still be beaten and defeated, it just requires a lot more effort. The most telling limitation is how quickly the body can tire. It stands up better and longer than a normal living human, but by superhuman standards is lacking. Even a short but intense fight can leave it exhausted.
