History

Severo Dante

Orphaned because of the events at First Ward, Dante resorted to crime to survive. In his teenaged years, he is taken in by the Syndicate and ascends as the youngest sword adept. He later then becomes a lieutenant and is provided a squadron of his choosing. Ambitious, Dante initiates unsanctioned missions and siphons earnings on the side. One mission, Dante discovers canisters of what has been labeled Dark Matter. Accidentally releasing the substance, Dante discovers that he is able to manipulate it to give him incredible abilities. As time progresses, and as Dante continues mongering Dark Matter, he schemes a coup to take over the Syndicate for him to lead. His plan backfires because of the meddling of an altruistic adept, too with the ability to manipulate Dark Matter, and Dante's physical body is destroyed in the process. His consciousness is bonded with dark matter and is given the ability to take shape of anybody he kills as he becomes Deadwringer. Within Praetoria, Dark Matter has become scarce, so Dante travels to Primal Earth and begins hoarding Dark Matter to exact revenge. He nearly succeeds, but is foiled by the Infiltrators. Dante is finally destroyed.
