Drang the Decider: The Arch-Nemesis That Galactoman Didn't Even Know He Had!

((Thanks to @WingedAvenger for the character concept!))

Dimension A

On his home planet of Vortax, Drang served as a Decider, an elite ruling class member of society that judged the fate of criminals and insurgents. The Vortaxian commoners feared going up against him because his judgements were always the same, and his word was law. But it all came crashing to an end when Drang passed judgment on a group of teen-aged Vortaxians that were staging an anti-government protest. One of the members of the group just happened to be the son of the Vortaxian king Dolamus, and when word got out that he had been sentenced, Dolamus had his power as a Decider stripped and he was committed to exile. As an act of revenge, Drang attempted to assassinate Dolamus, but the king's wife threw herself in the way to protect her husband and she died instead. Drang quickly fled the planet on an experimental lightwave craft.

Soon after departing, the ship's guidance system failed. Drang and his small but loyal crew were carried uncontrollably through space to a different star sector. By the time they had regained the helm, they were nearly out of fuel but found themselves a short distance away from Europa, a moon of Jupiter. After a crash landing, Drang and his crew converted their craft into living quarters and laboratory. They spent years crafting weapons and survival gear out of whatever they could. Drang's unfulfilled dreams of destroying Dolemus was no longer good enough to pursue. He wanted to conquer and rule the entire Vortaxian system.

One day, Drang's sensors picked up a small shuttlecraft approaching. Inside was a humble astronaut on a mission of exploration. Suddenly, a huge burst of cosmic energy struck the small vessel, seemingly entering the astronaut, who was rendered unconscious. Drang put a tractor beam on the shuttle and captured the astronaut. Drang and his crew had never seen a human before. As they were poking and prodding him, he awoke. The encounter immediately turned aggressive, and the astronaut began to fight back with amazing cosmic powers! Drang attempted to stop him, but not before the battle caused a chain reaction that destroyed Drang's ultimate weapon, a bomb he had been saving for the Vortaxian royal palace. The astronaut attempted to fly away into space, but Drang got off one last shot with an energy ray that struck the astronaut in the head and put him out once more.

As soon as Drang's weapon struck the astronaut, he immediately vanished in a flash of brilliant light, and awoke on Earth. He was unharmed thanks to his newfound powers, but the ray's blast caused him to lose all memory of what occurred on Europa. Drang was able to lock onto the astronaut's energy signature and - convinced the astronaut's cosmic abilities could be the key to conquering Vortax once and for all - monitored his progress for years. The humble astronaut, now known by the name Galactoman, was none the wiser.

But then, everything changed.

By Rhode Island standards the time was 7 o'clock AM, October 11th, 2005. Drang's crew heard a brief but deafening sound from his quarters, and rushed there only to find them empty. Drang the Decider had vanished.

Dimension B

Drang awoke that morning on the concrete floor of a holding cell at the Ziggursky Penitentiary in Paragon City - a place he had spent years observing from a distance... yet even from this poor vantage point it was clear that THIS Paragon City was somehow different. Confused, weakened, and without his weapons or his crew, he had no hope of escaping The Ziggurat. He gradually acclimated to his new surroundings... learning the languages of the Earthlings, gathering data, making both allies and enemies. He was able to learn from a few bruised and battered inmates that Galactoman had apparently also been transported to this strange new dimension - reigniting Drang's obsession with harnessing the Galacto-Force.

And then, Arachnos showed up.
