Pandorym: From Beyond the Stars

Long ago, a cabal of foolish wizards violated the laws of the multiverse in their search for ever-greater power, discovering spaces "between" the stars that should never have been breached. From the depths of unknowable distance, they summoned forth a nightmarish entity barely within mortal comprehension. Much like a Kheldian, the entity was unable to exist in the physical world of Earth; or perhaps it did not have a physical body at all. This, however, made it surprisingly easy for the magi to place it's essence into a powerful arcane gem; though they could not possibly force the creature to do their will - they could contain it. Given the name Pandorym by its summoners, the almost god-like creature sought to fulfill the terms of its mortal contractors; but in the end, it was instead imprisoned by fearful mortals who realized the danger of it's power.

Forgotten by those who originally conjured it, it's crystal prison eventually fell into the hands of Mu when they began their rebellion within the Circle of Thorns. It's true power was never realized in the conflict, and the wizards made nothing but extortion contracts to further their own power in exchange for it's release. With the conclusion of the magical war between the Mu and Circle of Thorns, however, Pandorym was once more forgotten. It was only with the invasion of the Rikti that it was finally released - the ensuing conflict causing enough destruction to the surface of the world that falling debris in Oranbega destroyed it's hated shell.

It's prison shattered, it returned to it's home among the furthest azure stars - a forgotten entity lost to time. Pandorym now despises the Circle of Thorns, Mu and most human wizards on principal alone. It desires little more than to be left alone, but the lust for power never ends and foolish mortals often call on things best left forgotten. . .

Eve D'Laern: Child of the Snow

Born in Anchorage, Alaska, Eve is considered lucky to even know her heritage or true last name. Her mother was found suffering from hypothermia on the streets of the city on a winter's night. Rushed to the hospital, the elven woman was found to be pregnant; and though doctors managed to keep her alive for several days, her life came to a close when she gave birth to Eve. Unable to locate any possible relatives, Eva was sent to an orphanage and eventually adopted by a kindly middle-aged couple.

Unable to have children of their own, Eve's parents raised her decently well. Though being an elf raised by humans made her life strange at the best of times. Discovering early on that she had a natural affinity for the mystic arts and tastes in classical music, Eve never quite fit in with the rest of the humans at her schools or jobs. Surpassing her parents in age didn't help matters, but such a thing is only natural for those as long-lived as elves.

When her adoptive parents and most of her friends had passed away or retired, Eve decided to seek out a new life in a new place - a journey that eventually lead her to Paragon. Unfortunately for Eve, the seemingly natural magical talents she tried to get into the 'hero crowd' with were tied to her unknown father. A long-forgotten heir to Mu's bloodline, the Circle of Thorns was quick to make the connection and abducted Eve only a week after she arrived in the city. . .

Eldritch Antiphon: Pandorym's Herald

Seeking another font of power to fuel their endless quest for revenge, a small cabal within the Circle of Thorns discovered tomes written on the long-banished entity. Sacrificing to it in hopes of turning it's favor, the Circle mages once more unwillingly summoned the eldritch power to Earth. Pandorym, however, recalled well what occurred last time it made a bargain with humans. Full of spite and animosity for those who extorted and abandoned it, Pandorym refused to hear the wishes of the insolent and power-hungry - if the mortals would dare to try and imprison it again, then they would suffer it's cosmic wrath.

Rather than to gift the mages with the power they desired, it unleashed eldritch fury upon them; reviving their sacrifice to use as it's vessel, it annihilated the very souls of the small cabal who dared to conjure it. Returning once more to the shadows beyond the stars, Pandorym branded Eve with a fragment of it's power and a begrudging understanding: if mortals were to ever leave it in peace, it would need a herald to "answer" their insolent and selfish attempts to call it back. . .
