Brilliant geneticist, commands numerous Super Rikti clones with duplicated superpowers of every variety.

The being today known as "The Evolutionary" was originally a Rikti military scientist named Ges'Talt. A brilliant geneticist and retired warrior, he was active during the First Rikti Invasion, and was the originator of a daring initiative intended to counter the humans' magical superiority after the Omega Team's assault on their home. While these heroes were successful in their mission to close the invasion portals used to transport Rikti troops to Earth, nearly all were quickly overwhelmed and captured by Rikti forces.

Determined to launch another invasion and desperate to develop a weapon capable of overcoming the then-unknown power of magic, Ges'Talt instructed his scientists to harvest genetic material from the captured humans. Several clones, dubbed "Super Rikti,” were decanted using various amounts of Omega Team DNA to develop stable combinations of superpowers. The aim was to create an enhanced strain of Rikti soldiers capable of overpowering the humans' heroic defenders, each one wielding the combined powers of two or more metahumans.

Ges'Talt, pleased with his creations' success, moved onto the next phase of his project - genetic modification of living Rikti. If successful, he reasoned, all Rikti warriors could be augmented with these new powers and converted into living weapons, able to match and overpower any superhuman protectors of Earth. However, requests for testing this procedure were denied, and he was ordered to continue production of his clones - slow work, sure to delay any future action against the humans.

Infuriated, and certain his method would work, he subjected himself to his own procedure using four carefully selected DNA samples - an impossibly agonizing process as every cell in his body was ripped apart and rebuilt down to the DNA. The pain irrevocably scarred his sanity, but when it was finished, he emerged as a being far more powerful than any of his amalgamated warriors - an Incarnate sharing DNA with the famous Hero 1 and some of Earth's most famous metahumans. Tasting true power at last, he knew that allying with the Rikti cause would serve him no longer. He stole the flagship containing the entire Super Rikti project and traveled to Earth - both to continue his research and to continue to seek out new genetic sources to further increase his own power.

Powers and Abilities

The Evolutionary possesses the combined superpowers of several superhumans from the fateful Omega Team, drawn directly from their extracted DNA. From Glacia, he inherited the power to control ice, entombing his opponents in freezing traps and slowing their movements with the icy cold. From Infernia, he gained the power to create and manipulate fire, launching searing blasts of heat and flame to destroy his enemies. From the impish shapeshifter known as the Morphling, he gained the power to change his physical form and that of his equipment, altering both his appearance and physiology. From the psychic Mentalist, he gained potent telekinetic and telepathic abilities, able to dominate the minds of others. Finally, from the incarnate Hero 1, he gained a connection to the Well of the Furies, able to draw directly from its power as do many incarnates.

This power has driven the Evolutionary to seek out more powerful heroes and villains to test his might against them in battle, obsessed with becoming the most powerful being on Earth (and beyond). Growing more dangerous with every battle, he has declared himself superior to Rikti and humans alike.
