Dream

This has to be a dream.

Nothing this bizarre could ever happen to me — I'm only a simple Athreloi steelsmith, like my father, no one of fame or consequence. I had always known what the future holds for me: to learn and carry on the craft, and one day find an apprentice of my own to teach in turn.

I would have been content with this quiet life, had I not been compelled by a vision to come to this place. Along the way I met three other travelers with the same destination. Ulft, Lim-Ku and Dhari asked me to travel with them; after hearing their stories, I could hardly refuse.

For now, I am granted power over fire, and I cannot abandon these people to the Fates. Until I wake, I will do all I can to protect this city, and keep the evil in it from escaping into the world.
