Feliney Girl was my first major RP'ing character in CoH and most people don't remember, but about two years ago she started as a catgirl (*gasp!*) who was desperately looking for a cure for her curse. The real joy of playing the character started when she didn't find a cure and plunged into life as an actual cat. She's had a rocky road and I have been playing her for about two years. I love RP'ing on Virtue, especially in Pocket D because you get to meet *so* many people, and I haven't found an MMO which has had such an active RP'ing community.

History

Let's at least start...

Birth and Early Life

Felicity Alice Parks was born in the hospital in Steel Canyon to two loving parents. After a non-eventful few days in the hospital, she was brought home to a fancy apartment in the same section of the city. Her father was one of the higher ups in a popular gum company, and her mother owned a small bookstore that was relatively close to where they lived. With these two well-paying jobs, the income level at the Parks' household was quite high.

Felicity was treated like a princess, being the only child. She received whatever she wanted. All of the best clothes and toys were easily in her grasp, and her little bedroom was practically overflowing with a bounty of items that would make any young girl squeal happily. She would eagerly show off her stuff to the little clique of elementary school girls.

As you can probably guess, Felicity became extremely spoiled. It had gotten especially bad when she entered Paragon High. Despite only being a freshman, she had easily gone up the popularity scale. Even the seniors looked up to her, at least in some ways. Unfortunately, all of this went to her head, and she became, for lack of a better word, a bitch. She made it her personal goal to torment any other girl that she deemed "un-pretty" or "un-popular".

Whether by fate or chance, one of these girls was a young teenage witch. However, she wasn't a very pretty witch, or a very skilled witch. So, Felicity tortured her without restraint. She pulled all the pranks from taking her clothes from her gym locker to replacing her lunch with trash, and other childish, cruel acts. Finally, the little witch couldn't take any more. She cursed Felicity.

The Transformation Begins

It started with the little things, as things like this usually do. She began to enjoy fish and milk, two things she previously couldn't stand, a whole lot more. She also found herself shaving a lot more often as her hair took on an odd texture. Probably the most noticeable to her in the early months was the odd pain in her ears. She tried to ignore it, blaming it on growing pains.

While everyone was freezing in the middle of winter, she was completely warm. Actually, she began to feel rather hot. All of her friends stared at her strangely in the following weeks as she brought fish sandwiches to school and carried around a little battery-powered fan.

As she started to look more and more like the cat she was turning into, she quickly fell from her high popularity status. In the place she found herself she had no friends. Everyone at this level already hated her for the way she had treated them. Each look into the mirror terrified Felicity as she saw herself become a monster. It had gotten so bad that she finally just ran away.

She left it all, school, parents, material possessions, home, to live in the alley ways where a creature of her ugliness could be mildly accepted. She found herself the first night between her dad’s office and the detective agency that was placed next to it. When her dad left the office, Felicity sprung to her feet from the trash can she had been weeping on and ran up to see him. A terrified look flashed in his eyes as he saw the monstrosity, and he broke into a run towards his home. Tears welled in poor Felicity’s eyes; her own father didn’t even recognize her now. She cried the night out, not even checking the trash can for her dinner, and this continued for months and months as her changes continued to haunt her.

By March, she had moved behind a Chinese place and got her daily meals from the trash cans, licking off fish bones, wrapping her long, scraggly nails over any meat she could salvage, and her liquids came from a tiny bowl of milk the owner had set out in the back for her. The heat of the coming spring coupled with the warmth of that ragged, unwashed fur forced her to wear a simple sports bra and a tiny skirt, only to be modest. Time slugged on, and she had become dangerously thin, her tail stretched out a foot and a half, whiskers poked out of her face, her nails have become claws and her hands and feet had began resembling paws. Life was unexciting until one day that changed her hobo-type life style.

The Heroics of Feliney Girl

It was late in the afternoon, and a boy and his mother had been walking home from a trip to the barber shop, which the little boy had grudgingly followed along to. Suddenly a member of the Hellion gang sprang out from the shadows of the skyscraper and held a sharpened knife to the little boy’s neck as he screamed in protest.

“Lady, gimme the purse or junior here gets it!” he growled under clenched teeth.

Felicity’s ears immediately picked this up, and her nose twitched as she tried to get a sense of where it was happening. She stood up from the trash can and followed the scent until she saw the scene unfold. A sense of justice welled up inside of her, and she decided to help the little boy. With an inhuman cry, she leaped out, pouncing on the mugger who had thrown his knife away in surprise. Felicity lashed out with her claws, scratching him up with those uncut blades, biting with sharp teeth, and spitting in his face. He fell over unconscious and Fel looted his pockets of money, stuffing the bills into her sports bra.

“Oh, kitty person! Thank you so much for saving my boy!” the lady exclaimed, jumping up and down excitedly, a little taken back by her grueling fighting tactics.

Felicity shrugged slightly, saying with a tiny growl in her voice, “It was nothing, really…”

“The Feliney Girl person saved me from the meanie! Yay, Feliney Girl!” the boy shrieked excitedly.

“No, no, it’s Felicity, just Felicity,” she tried to say, anything to shut him up with that embarrassing name. Soon the passers by had noticed what the creature had done and started chanting, “Feliney Girl! Feliney Girl!”

“Feliney Girl…” The name echoed in her head constantly as she returned to her alley. “Am I some sort of hero?”

Felicity had become Feliney Girl, saver of little boys, avenger of purses. Now she had some money, from the pockets of muggers she had taken down. Felicity didn’t care if it was stealing; now she could afford meals, and maybe some grooming at the local pet shop. Things started looking up, especially when she started working with other heroes. She met an especially good friend, Smartie, who was attending a school for heroes. Felicity joined with them and finally had a bed to sleep on, constant meals, and friends. She was back in the social scene, back to the world.

Despite her happiness of being accepted again, the changes continued to get worse. She was shedding all over her room; she slept in the corner, licked herself for baths, and had to lap up her drinks out of a bowl. She was still becoming an animal.

Personality

Felicity's personality is really dependent on which form she has taken on. There are some things, however, that you will find in Fel's personality no matter what form she is in. If she can help it, Fel will never do something rude or cruel on purpose, because her hard life has taught her that *nothing* good comes from a sour attitude and a spirit of hate. She is usually laid back, never wanting to do more than sit on a counter somewhere and lick a paw (or hand) or take a nap. Also, Fel enjoys loving and being loved, and this has become her main source of happiness.

As a cat, she is extremely vocal and intelligent... that is, when compared to other cats. If there is something she wants, she'll meow and meow until someone begins a guessing game with her to see what she desires. She also seems to be more outgoing as a feline, and is sometimes seen going over to lonely people in Pocket D and mewing at them. However, she is not perfect. Fel can be extremely jealous and attention-hogging, especially if there is another cat-like creature in the area soaking up all the petting. She is also subject to moping when something in her life gets her down.

As a human, Felicity is a lot more shy and held back. She'll usually be leaning by the bar or sitting on a table, watching the crazy patrons of Pocket D. Although she doesn't speak up much, she enjoys it when friends or random people come up and start to chat with her. She seems mild and easy-going most of the time as well. Her patience and tolerance for annoyance is incredible. If you get to know her, glimpses of the Felicity of a few years ago starts to appear. She'll be more chatty and show more of her emotions which usually are happiness, sadness, or anger.

Vulnerabilities

Being a cat in both body and mind, there are a few things that are extremely difficult for Felicity to ignore, and this causes embarrassing situations, especially when she is a human. Anything shiny or flashy, smelling of fish, mouse shaped or made of milk will usually draw Felicity over. With items like this, Felicity can be very easily manipulated. May it also be noted that Felicity is extremely afraid of any canine-like creatures and will usually take off and hide if one is close to her.

FAQ

Okay, here's the big one. I can't tell you how many questions have been asked about Felicity (over and over again) so let's get some of them out of the way.

1. How did this cat get into Pocket D???

The elevator, duh... someone hits a button, Fel runs in after them and runs out after them. It's not complicated... really... so stop asking!

2. So, are you a cat or a human or what?

She was originally a human, but was transformed by a witch into a cat, both physically and mentally. Magical objects and eventually a magical ritual has allowed her to switch between human and feline.

3. Are you really that short?

I was debating this one a lot, and I eventually said, "Sure, okay, Fel really is under 5 ft. tall. (as a human)" It's kinda hard to roleplay being an average sized human that turns into a little cat when we can't adjust the height after making the character.

4. Did Fel have kittens?

Yep, six of them actually... let's see if I can name them: Bucket, Scooter, Kiss, Princess Elena, Houdini, and one other I can never remember...

5. Who was the daddy cat?

There were a few, and no it wasn't an "OMG RP CyBORz!!!!" thing, they were cats be and another player made up for the whole situation thing. Basically, a member of my guild wanted to do something bad to Fel (How horrible!) and I said, "Why not?" So we settled on her locking Fel in a bathroom with three horny male cats. Six kitties was the result.

6. Why do you keep switiching VGs???

Well, the first VG I was in was the Delphian Circle and I *loved* the RP we had there. Best RP year of my life, I mean, everyone that was actively involved with them a year or two ago remembers the great times we had. (*misses Noble and gives him a big hug wherever he is*) Ever since then, I've been dragged around, never really finding one I liked for too long. For some reason, they always lose activity when I join... I'm not cursed or anything!

7. Why is Fel on Red Side if she is such a good-hearted (and Cute!) kitty?

Fel was brought to the Isles by Noble, if anyone remembers him. (*hugs again for Noble*) He very nicely gave her a home in the Delphian Circle base. It was meant to be a two week thing, but it sorta... extended. I was having too much fun RP'ing a kitty!

8. Is Fel an evil kitten who wants to take over the world with her cuteness?

No... although, that's not half a bad idea...

9. Was Fel in any relationships?

Yep, a couple, although they never ended well for Fel... oh gosh! I rhymed! Whoo!

10. Does Fel have an owner?

'Duh... her player! No, but really... she has had one or two, although they mysteriously disappeared too... what is up with that?! Now she lives with her best friend, Emerie Waters. I guess you could call her Fel's "owner". Either way, Fel will always be in the D. Which leads us to...

11. Why... why!.. are you always in the D?

It's no fun to role-play a kitten slicing up people or sitting in an empty base. The D is where it's at, man! *puts away her hippy stuff*

12. Do you alt at all?

Of course, with CoH, who doesn't alt? My main alts are Kaniney Girl (why does that sound so familiar?) and Cyro Girl.

13.. How does Fel become a human? My cat can't become a human...

Originally, Fel was given a necklace to return to her human form. Nowadays, she has done a ritual that allows her to gather the magic inside her to change from one to the other. So far, she hasn't gotten stuck... ooh! That'd be a nice story-line...

14. How many years is 18 in cat years?

Don't ask me, what do I look like, a vet?

15. Why are there so many people RP'ing a normal cat just like you? They're a dime a dozen lately...

People stealing my idea, that's what it is. I don't mind too much though, there can only be one original. Besides, all those imitators can talk somehow, Fel can only meow... when she's a cat anyway.

16. Do you have a cat?

Yes, five in fact. I'm a little obsessed with cats... no! I'm not a crazy cat lady, really... Update! Seven now =)
