Flint Pierce

From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe

Jump to: navigation, search

Flint Pierce was first thought up as a rogue thief I've always wanted to create had their been a daggers/dual blades set. But I later thought up the concept as well as an introduction storyline asking Crimson Cutlass' player if she would be up for it. She was and Flint had a very big change to his original theme.

Personality

Flint's personality can be categorized in a few ways. Around people he is often arrogant and belittling to others. As a captain he is steadfast and strong. And in battle he is fierce and unforgiving. Each has their place in the personality of Flint.

Arrogance

Flint Pierce is a very egotistical man, always being the first one to sing his own praises. Often belittling ones he doesn't see fit to be in his presence, he is abrasive much of the time. As another sign of this, he'll give himself "titles" that he uses often to describe himself, rarely ever using the same one twice. Though he does always use the words "The Invincible, The Unstoppable" to describe himself.

As Captain

As a captain, he is able to make decisions on the fly, being great at giving orders when he needs to. He is hot headed but mostly rational minded though admittedly, his arrogance is normally his downfall. Past those flaws, in crunch time he tosses away all of his flaws and aims to follow through with the best of his ability. In stress is where he usually works best.

In Battle

In battle, Flint is always focused and ready to fight to the best of his ability. Rarely does he let his guard up, being well versed in fighting enough to be ready for anything. In battle, he is different than out of because instead of arrogance, he shows confidence. This is likely due to him taking his sword play seriously for almost his entire life.

Powers

Flint's powers are derived from two things. The first are just his talent in sword play and the second comes from the crystals he wears.

Sword Play

Flint is an adept at sword play, having trained in it as a child to follow in his father's foot steps. On the airship he grew up on, he ended up being the top swordsman of all of the boys there. As he grew up, he started to pick up on various styles until he began to pick up two blades, becoming an ace at it. Soon he began to pick up a reputation as he went around the world as an amazing swordsman, only becoming infamous in some places from it.

Crystal Powers

Flint's Crystals are what give him his powers to do supernatural things. Outside of his sword play, this is where it all comes from, his skill in gaining the best from these crystals.

Dark Aura

Flint's foremost power of the crystals comes in the form of dark energy engulfing him and shielding him from attack. Flint is very easily able to let this form of darkness cover him, having used it for years now.

Clarity

On top of having a shroud of darkness, his crystals give him a sense of clarity. Flint can keep his wits about him rather easily, unable to be stalled or held in place. This also ups his mental defenses, making it extremely difficult for him to be overtaken mentally.

Dark Healing

Flint also has the ability with some of his crystals to absorb a part of the soul of anyone around him to heal any wounds he has on him, letting him fight even harder as though he had never been hurt yet.

Bounding Leap

When Flint needs to cover long distances fast, he channels one of his crystals to give him an ability that allows him to soar through the air in one big jump, able to easily bounce from place to place with ease.

History

Early Life

Flint Pierce was born of Rick and Candace Pierce in 1980. He stayed in Britain with his mother while his father Rick was an air pirate in the Dread Aces under the command of Crimson Cutlass Sr., the father of the current Crimson Cutlass. Rick was one of Crimson Cutlass' most valuable members of his crew, often trusting him to perform tasks over many others. Flint's stay in Britain was short lived however, as his mother died of heart disease a year and a half after he was born.

Rick Pierce heard the news of his wife's passing and went to pick up their son and see her funeral. Rick then went to Crimson Cutlass Sr. and asked if he could raise his son Flint on their air ship, the Sooty Tern. He cited the captain's daughter, Sierra Hawthorne, as a reason to let Flint on the ship. The girl was barely younger than Flint and lived on the ship also. After a short deliberation Crimson Cutlass Sr. allowed Rick to let his son on the ship, as he respected him for all of the things he had done for him. Rick Pierce was deeply grateful and kept Flint in his quarters to take care of him.

Flint & Sierra

Being the only two children on the ship, it didn't take long for Flint and the captain's daughter Sierra to become friends. The two were often found playing together on the ship or getting into mischief together. This became more prominent as they progressed through the years, sometimes causing problems as they played their games, as their wasn't much else to do on the air ship for children of their age.

Self-Titles

Flint Pierce always introduces himself in a very grandiose fashion, often praising himself with a flashy title. He'll also give himself elaborate names when describing himself and in the middle of one of his loud rants. He has called himself the following at least once, and he has had many, many, many more names.

And the one he uses most of all:
