Basic Backstory
...and so it was, her eyes met with the woman who had killed her father. A victim of someone else's power hungry rise to power, he slumped to the floor. The woman glanced back at her, she was beneath her, a mere child. With tear-filled eyes, she swore revenge, and dedicated herself to her craft. Years of endless study, she grew cold and distant. She had a goal, and the drive and intellect to pull it off. Everyone else merely in the way, joking about and slacking, not taking their studies to heart.
She continued this way for years, under the tutelage of many a wizard. She was warned many times about the path she was going, overworking herself consistently, pushing her mind and her body to their limits, all for the sake of revenge. She didn't care, she heard it all time and again.
As she hit 16, the wizard she was studying under proposed an idea. She could hone her skills far better in battle, and urged her to move to Paragon City, become a hero. His reasoning was that perhaps she would soften and she would find the proper way there, giving up revenge and using her dedication to help society.
Sunset
Gailwind had joined up with the Knights of Camelot, and thanks to a friend she met, Maya Akagi, become the apprentice of Taboo. They often fought and bickered, especially over Gailewind's desire for revenge.
Sunrise
Gailewind had done it, under secrecy, she had performed her own detective work and discovered the woman responsible for her father's death. A high ranking cabalist. She left her friends and began her hunt, cornering the woman in the nearby forest of Croatoa. There their battle began. Lightning flew, and fire burst out and fizzled as quick as they came. Gaile was relentless in her assault, her books swarming her foe, unleashing spell after spell against her opponent, and as her foe staggered downwards to her knees, she delivered the coup'de'gras without a further word. A single bolt of lightning came down, signifying the end of her duel.
Having given up everything for this one moment, she was left aimless and alone... yet fulfilled. She now wanders, finding new ways to hone her magical abilities and perhaps a new meaning to her empty life.

Maya Akagi - a friend that Gaile met in the D, she considers her like a sister.
Taboo - Gaile's current mentor, Gaile looks up to her with far more respect than she gives most people.
