  • Appears to be some conflict between the Geneva program and Katie Crawford. Geneva appears to be gaining the upper-hand as hybrid gains power.
  • Cheers for Agent Smith while watching The Matrix, but also cries for Trinity.

After a bad run-in with a Marcone Consiglere resulted in me being completely amazed by the power of Propel (which sadly enough I was forced to drop around level 20), I created the Dominator Geneva. While she was given a semi-technological origin in order to serve as a counterbalance to the magic-wielding Eventide, I found that no matter what, I was completely unable to make a good looking robotic character using existing costume pieces. Instead of developing a fully mechanised character, I revisited my old favourite theme of posthumanism and created a villain with a humanoid body, but the driving purpose of transcending its limitations. Geneva was inspired, in part by Wintermute from William Gibson's "Neuromancer".

Origin: Sins of the Programmer

Geneva was a project designed to develop an system capable of managing shielded, cryostasis cells to perpetuate the lives of select clientele, should worldwide catastrophe threaten humanity with extinction. Due to the unpredictable nature of apocalypse, it was decided that the Geneva program should be fully automated, allowing it to make intelligent decisions that will preserve the lives of its clients should a human operator be unavailable or unable to perform their duties, for duration of the emergency. In of itself, Geneva was a lucrative target having managed to break barriers that previously hampered the efficiency of self-sustaining artificial intelligence. More importantly, however, was the potential for access to the contingency plans of some of Geneva's "wards", some of the richest and most powerful minds in the northern hemisphere.

Like all items of value in Etoile Isles, Geneva's existance attracted potential saboteurs and thieves from around the globe. Supercorporate spies and street-level datathieves kept the Geneva development team on the run, constantly shifting locations to avoid becoming victims of their own ingenuity. Ultimately though, the team fell to a ragged band of technophiles who substituted intelligence for raw, survivalist cunning, resources for ruthlessness and sophisticated tracking mechanisms for an engineer's love for his estranged daughter, Katie, who had fallen in with the thieves.
