First Step

The first thing you should do is see if your Group is listed already within the Wiki, its possible that other people may have listed it as an association, if thats the case you'll want to edit that page. To do so:

Example: http://www.virtueverse.com/index.php/Category:Supergroup_of_Winners
OR

You should come to an empty page with an edit box at the bottom. If you come to a page with content and no edit box you will need to ensure first that you typed the name in correctly, then you will need to click the edit button at the top.

Creating Your Page

Sections

Sections are created by creating headings for specific areas, as below:

Sub-Categories
All character group pages should have the ' defined at the bottom of your content. This ensures that it will be listed within the Character Group Listing. There are however other categories available to you for listing your group within areas related to its function, purpose, or format. These include:

*:Category:Coalition
*:Category:Company
*:Category:Supergroup
*:Category:Disbanded

Thematic Categories
You can also use theme based categories to organize your group into a variety of areas. Go to Group Categories to find a lit of currently existing categories, or if you know of a category that is not listed but would be useful to other people go ahead and add it to your group, then ensure the new category is also added to :Category:Group Categories.

CAUTION: You may want to open the link referenced below in a second window or tab.

A picture can speak a thousand words. To add a picture to your page, you will want to click on the link on the left side of the page labeled "upload file". From here, you can upload any picture. Try to keep this picture's size within reason. As a rule of thumb, a picture that is over 30KB may need to be trimmed a bit. Once the picture is uploaded, you will be able to pull it up with the same name. For example, if I upload an image named 'Uberman 1.jpg', the file's name will be Uberman_1.jpg.

Now to add your picture to your page, you can either place the image in the apropriate spot on the template, or add it anywhere inside your page with the command '. This will place your picture in the exact spot you type it.

If you want to put your picture in a nice frame to the right side of the text, with a caption below, use the command '. For more image options, see Wikipedia: Extended image syntax.

Stubbing
If your group category page is a small work in progress, feel free to "stub" it. When you stub an article, you mark it as a work in progress, so that people who read the article know that there'll be more content coming soon. This also invites members of your group to add content to the page as well.

To stub a character group category, add Charactergroup-Stub to the end of the article, right above the list of categories.

Mature and Subversive Content
If your page contains mature content (anything that would be more than about a PG-13 rating), or talks about highly controversial topics that others might not agree with (religion, Longbow's legal status, etc.), you might want to mark it with a mature or subversive content warning. That way, people can avoid content that might offend them.

To mark a page as mature content, add Mature-content to the top of the page, after the end of your HeroBox or VillainBox template if necessary.

To mark a page as subversive content, add Subversive-content to the top of the page, after the end of your HeroBox or VillainBox template if necessary.

And if you're strange and want to mark a page as mature content in a joking way, add Buggery-content to the top of the page.

Finishing Up
Once you've added all of the information you want to add, you'll want to preview it first to make sure it displays properly. You can do this by clicking the "Show Preview" button at the bottom of the edit window. Please ensure that you keep a copy of the text in the edit box in an outside text editor just in case the internet monster eats your content.

The preview will bring up your page exactly as you programmed it to look. Look it over. Does it look right? Is something a little bit off? This is also a good time to make any alterations or corrections to your group content. Once you are happy with your work, press the save page button at the bottom.

Sub-Categories
