Kent Young grew up in the hiss and glow of molten metal. His father, Henry Young, ran Young & Son Metalworks—a place where every tool had history and every dent had a story. Kent never left Skyway; he inherited his father’s patience, his back pain, and his belief that if something broke, you fixed it yourself.

When Henry died of a sudden heart attack, Kent inherited the shop. A week later, as he was sorting through the dusty drawers of the office desk, he found a single sheet of paper folded in his father’s old welding mask. Scrawled in grease pencil were four words that hit harder than any hammer:

"Build something that  lasts."

No signature. No explanation. Just those four words—simple, but heavy as forged iron. Kent pinned it to the corkboard above his workbench, right where he’d see it every morning.

Kent threw himself into work, keeping the forge lit long after dark. But the city outside was changing. Crime was creeping in from the industrial outskirts, and a new generation of costumed “heroes” had taken to the streets—flashy, impulsive, too young to know what collateral damage looked like.

One night, a battle erupted just blocks from his shop. A crew of powered thieves hit a transport carrying experimental tech; a trio of self-proclaimed '"heroes" swooped in, more interested in livestream views than crowd control. Energy blasts carved through buildings. Stray rounds set fire to a block of workshops—including Kent’s. He dragged two injured bystanders from the wreckage and watched helplessly as the shop his father built burned to the ground.

He spent the night pulling people out of debris, using a crowbar and a makeshift harness he welded on the fly. No heroes stayed behind. By dawn, Kent was covered in soot and blood that wasn’t his. His hands shook—not from fear, but from fury. He’d seen supposed saviors turn his city into scrap metal and walk away before the dust even settled.

The next evening, as he sat on his porch staring at the smoking horizon, the sky tore open. A streak of silver light crossed the clouds and crashed into the woods behind his property, shaking the earth like a god’s hammer hitting an anvil.

When Kent reached the crater, he found the meteorite half-buried in the soil, steaming and split open. Inside were jagged shards of reflective silver metal—and beneath them, a shallow pool of molten, living liquid that shimmered like mercury but pulsed with an inner rhythm, faint and steady, like a heartbeat. When Kent touched it, the metal moved. It rippled up his fingers like it recognized him.

Over the following weeks, he experimented in secret. The substance—what he dubbed "Smart-Metal"—seemed to responded not only to his thoughts but to magnetic fields, heat, and electrical current. It could remember shapes, harden or soften on command, even repair itself. It wasn’t just metal—it was alive, in a mechanical sense, reactive and curious. It bonded to his tools, his machines… even his skin.

With his father’s note watching from the wall, Kent got to work. He built the Forge Suit—an armored exoskeleton plated with the Smart-Metal, integrated with a fusion power core that turned his body heat and movement into energy. And then came the hammer: a towering, brutal masterpiece of design. Its head could generate a contained fusion reaction, striking with the force of a meteor impact, yet precise enough to weld steel. He engraved one word on its handle: “Resolve”. He forged a hammer—not a weapon of wrath, but a tool of reclamation. A symbol of rebuilding what reckless power had destroyed.

Kent didn’t become a hero out of glory. He became Hammer because he was done watching others break things. He didn’t want to save the world—he wanted to rebuild it. When criminals tore the city apart, he’d forge it back together, piece by piece. And when those so-called heroes brought chaos, he’d remind them that true power isn’t in destruction. It’s in creation.

⚙️ Smart-Metal
The curious substance Kent discovered within the meteorite, later dubbed Smart-Metal, isn’t a simple alien alloy. It’s a semi-sentient, adaptive substance that reacts to bioelectrical signals and electromagnetic fields, allowing it to interface seamlessly with Kent’s body and tools. It possesses a “shape memory” quality, able to flow, reform, and solidify at the molecular level in response to his commands. When bonded with conventional materials, it amplifies their tensile strength and redistributes impact energy, rendering armor virtually impervious to ballistic and kinetic damage. It also exhibits a strange resonance with thermal and radiation signatures, subtly siphoning excess energy to power whatever it’s integrated into. Most importantly, it is imprinted to Kent’s unique bioelectric pattern—no one else can command or even lift his creations covered in the substance properly.

⚙️ The Forge Suit
Kent’s powered armor is, by design, an uncomplicated mechanical exoskeleton—hydraulic, practical, and built from repurposed industrial components. But once fused with Smart-Metal, the ordinary becomes extraordinary. The Smart-Metal coats and seeps into every joint and plate, giving the suit an organic resilience. It strengthens under pressure, forming a reactive lattice that absorbs concussive force and converts it into kinetic energy Kent can redirect through his movements. Bullets flatten, explosions disperse, and physical blows feel like ripples in water. The Smart-Metal also acts as a conductor, letting Kent channel power from the suit’s compact fusion core directly into his tools or hammer. Though the exoskeleton enhances his strength severalfold, it’s the Smart-Metal that makes him nearly unstoppable—a living fusion of human instinct and alien metallurgy.

⚙️Resolve
His Hammer, nicknamed Resolve, is the perfect complement to the suit: both weapon and engineering marvel. Forged from reinforced steel and entirely coated in Smart-Metal, it’s an extension of Kent’s will. The Smart-Metal recognizes him alone—its atomic structure stiffens when handled by anyone else, turning the hammer into an immovable object of absurd density. Embedded within the pommel is a miniature jet engine Kent designed himself, capable of igniting in split-second bursts to accelerate swings or launch the hammer at devastating velocity. On impact, the Smart-Metal absorbs and releases the stored kinetic energy as a concussive shockwave—enough to send armored vehicles skidding or punch holes through reinforced concrete. With precision control, he can even “weld” or “cut” with the hammer’s superheated head, turning it from blunt instrument to blacksmith’s torch.

🛠️Blacksmithing & Metalworking
Kent’s roots are in the forge. He’s an expert in smelting, tempering, and shaping metal using both traditional and modern techniques. The rhythmic craft of hammer and anvil has given him precision control and strength that borders on meditative discipline. His ability to understand metal—its “temperament,” as he calls it—translates directly into his use of the Smart-Metal. Where others would see an alien material, Kent sees something to be forged. His command of heat, force, and balance is as much art as science.

🛠️Mechanical Combat Training
Though not a soldier, Kent’s years of physical labor and occasional rough encounters have left him strong, grounded, and capable in a fight. He's received training in hand-to-hand combat by his father, a former Marine. He’s also trained himself to fight using the Forge Suit’s weight and power, relying on physics, momentum, and leverage rather than martial arts technique. Every swing of his hammer is deliberate—efficient, calculated, and devastating. He uses the suit’s hydraulics for bursts of power, turning simple motions into seismic blows. In close quarters, he’s a human wrecking ball; in open space, he’s a moving artillery platform.

💪Endurance & Resolve
Decades of hard labor have built him into a tank of a man—durable, pain-tolerant, and unyielding. His physical endurance borders on superhuman even without the suit. He’s accustomed to twelve-hour shifts at the forge, to burns and exhaustion, to standing firm when others fold. What drives him isn’t vengeance or fame, but a craftsman’s stubborn creed: you don’t stop until the job’s done right. That mindset makes him almost impossible to break.
