proud member of Portal Command

Having access to the most unique salvage on the open market, and in many cases superior even to that of the black market, Lord Alexandre Wentworth IV found himself immensely aware of the properties of magic from an early age. Often, after begging certain family members, he would get himself invited to rare gatherings where he would witness powerful magic firsthand and would often get a chance to see many of the sought-after items that would eventually be sold through the family’s auction house, Wentworth’s Fine Consignments in Paragon City. It was through such meetings, that the young lord came to meet a member of the Midnight Squad, who was then willing to take the youth as an apprentice which, in turn, gave Alexandre access to their legendary library.

By the age of seventeen, he was highly proficient in certain magic, but much to the disappointment of those around him, he seemed to be inclined to study that which was best left alone by those aspiring to be something other than a villain. Despite their fair gentle warnings, he embraced whatever magical knowledge he could and many times he would sneak into homes, private libraries, and covert academies to learn all he could. However, his presence and his whereabouts did not go unnoticed for long. Finally, after being caught stealing from the Imperial Vault, it was decided that he should no longer enjoy the benefit of the doubt that was given to him as a member of the Wentworth family. Instead, if he wanted to learn Magic, they would now expect him to prove himself first rather than assume he would make something of himself. They felt the best way to do this was to send him to Paragon City where he would be under the watchful eye of key Midnight Squad Alumni.

Much to the surprise of those that made this decision, Alexandre was pleased with the idea and did not sulk nor did he fight the decision. In fact many times, during his searches, he came across information concerning both the long lost city of Oranbega and the magic of Croatoa. Going to Paragon, therefore, was becoming an ambition of his. More importantly, he knew there was a reason the Squad seemed more determine now more than ever to strengthen their ranks and, once more, help in a more direct public way. Much as they did before the Rikti Invasion. Alexandre understood that something supernatural was pushing this along and, if something was strong enough to revitalize the Midnight Squad, he knew he wanted to be a part of it.

So, in the hopes of staying on the good side of those he may need again, he thanked his mentors for their reprimand and for the chance to help the Squad in Paragon City. To further instill goodwill, he would visit them one-on-one, seeking their advice while in reality he was doing his best to placate their egos. In the end it worked, for he was sent off to Paragon City with a celebratory farewell party that was fit for a king and many gave him gifts that would make even the auction house envious.

Yet not everyone was fooled. Some became very concerned that Alexander’s innate powers would one day be used against them. The question remained on the forefront of their minds, would he grow to be a legendary hero that would make them all proud or would his desires for darker things lead him down the wrong path…

Paragon City

Supposedly, Alexander was to take a series of short vacation trips to visit with friends and family before arriving in Paragon City. However, the Midnight Squad, who were keeping tabs on him, were fully aware that he had yet to arrive in any of his expected stops nor had he made it to Paragon City. Clearly someone had helped him disappear the night of his bon voyage celebration, but the reason was still unknown. Shortly after, the Squad became aware of a rather public figure that had disappeared as well, BattleTank Commander.

BattleTank Commander, Leader of Portal Command, arrived just a few months prior to his disappearance in the hopes of creating a new Super Group in Paragon City. Although hugely successful, he stopped all public communications shortly before vanishing over night. The Squad then uncovered evidence that BTC and Lord Wentworth were in Dark Astoria and purposely trying to keep their activities a secret.

Since then, BTC has returned to continue his role as Leader of Portal Command while Alexander has now officially arrived in Paragon City. An invitation to join Portal Command was extended to and accepted by Lord Wentworth yet the two act as if they have never met before. Their attempt to keep their connection a secret has become a great concern for the Squad.
