The Loyal Guardian

Visiting planet Earth on a geological research expedition, The Loyal Guardian was taking some mineral samples from a small stream in Paragon City when a bank-robbers' getaway car raced across the over-passing bridge and sent a young boy flying down and into the water.

It was only then, when The Loyal Guardian rushed to action, that he realized the full potential of power that he had on planet Earth.

The boy was unconscious and in desperate need of medical attention, so The Loyal Guardian brought him to the hospital safely and waited until the doctors had done all they could.

The boy's life had been saved. However, despite the amount of mental activity within the child's brain, he remains, to this day, in a coma.

After finding and bringing the bank-robbers to legal justice, The Loyal Guardian decided to remain on Earth to serve as a hero and watch over this young boy.

There is some sort of odd connection between he and the boy, but this connection, and his odd memory block of his prior life, remain a mystery to our hero, known only as "The Loyal Guardian".

The Loyal Guardian is actually a psychic and hard-light construct of the young boy's secret mutant powers. The boy's amazing mutant powers were dormant until the terrible accident that sent him into this mysterious coma. And the power of his imagination has combined with his exceptional abilities to harness thought and energy into substantial illusions.

The Loyal Guardian represents the epitome of what young Matty believes to be a true super hero. And now the child lives the incredible life of an alien super hero through the eyes (And mind) of The Loyal Guardian.

Lost within the illusion, The Loyal Guardian is confused about his erratic memory from his prior life and is unable to piece together the truth.

For now, the young child is one of the city's strongest, and greatest, heroes.
