Character History
Allan Branston started his life as an entrepreneur early, making a few thousand pounds from a self published school magazine in the 80s. By the time he was 21 he'd made his first million from some forays into the growing home and small office computer market. From there he branched into his famous Chaste record stores, and over the next decade expanded this franchise into a budget airline, an Internet Provider and a Mobile Phone service company. He celebrated the new millenium by moving his base of operations to New York for tax purposes.
In his spare time he became known for his daredevil stunts such as an attempted crossing of Australia in a hot air balloon, an Everest expedition and participation in the Americas Cup yacht race for several years running.
After hitting 40, Allan's quest for new kicks lead him to the Orgone Institute, a self improvement company run by Ms. Amazing. Reluctant to assist him at first, she was convinced by his offers to help expand her franchise and act as an interface between her lofty goals of transforming the world and the human world of business and commerce. Allan helped the scientist staff to design an experimental "Lion Formula" that would restore and supercede his physical vitality. The formula worked out perfectly, transforming him into a leonine powerhouse with Class 2 superstrength, speed and agility, as well as enhanced senses.
Branston continues to juggle his business empires with his new career as a crimefighter.

Personality
Max is an extrovert, loud and boisterously playful. He's become a superhero partly out of a sense of civic responsibility, but mostly for fun. He's incredibly proud of his new physical prowess and can't help but showing off, especially in front of female teammates, no matter how disinterested they may appear.
He's incredibly persistent and stubborn, and used to getting his own way eventually. He'll laugh off any setbacks rather than brood about them.
His transformation may have had an effect on his personality, making him less inhibited as he adjusts to the new physcial power and sensory input. Whether this is just psychological or a physical change is as yet unclear.
Powers
Max possesses incredible (but not superhuman) strength from his increased muscle mass and density. The distribution of his excess musculature is concentrated around his chest, arms and shoulders, allowing him to bench press 1000kg under optimal conditions. He can leg press around 1500kg, and his increased leg strength allows him to run at speeds around 50km/h over long distances, peaking at 70km/h for short sprints. He can perform a long jump of around 20m and a standing high jump of 8m.
He is suprisingly agile for his bulk, and can balance effortlessly on a single finger for brief periods of time, turn on a dime at his top running speed, and survive falls of up to 40m unharmed due to his increased ligament strength and bone density.
Max has small bony claws that extend from between his knuckles like a cat's. They are durable enough to let him cut through a 20cm thick wooden fence post in a couple of seconds, or through a steel cable in about a minute. His fighting style employs a combination of claw moves and straightforwards punches, kicks and grapples.
Max's eyes are modified to be able to see in almost complete darkness, due to an increase in rod density. He cannot see colours in the dark, nor can he see through absolute darkness like Moon Lass's clouds. His hearing is about four times as acute as a humans, and his sense of smell allows him to identify an individual from 50m away in windless conditions.
Max's increased musculature and bone density and his thick skin afford him limited invulnerability. He also possesses enhanced healing gifts that allow him to shrug off most conventional injury quickly.
His increased Stamina allows him to run without tiring for several hours.
Weaknesses and Limitations
Max requires regular injections of his "Lion Formula" to maintain his physical alterations. He currently gets a daily top-up - its estimated that he'd resume normal human form fully after 4 days without the serum.
