Short History

Mellissandria has been a thief, a singer and musician, a teacher, a scavenger, an inventor, but above all, she is an explorer of time and space.

As a young girl on her world, she was a musicologist..she studied how people communicated ideas through musical composition. Problem was, her views were more or less considered useless and frivolous by her peers.She was shunted off to work in the planetary archives..one of the most boring jobs on her world, considering how longlived her people are. Eventually she decided it was time to strike out on her own and see the universe for herself.

So she..'liberated' an old dimensional spaceship that was sitting around, forgotten and unused, and took off. What she didn't know was that ship had been in drydock for some time for repairs for dimensional instability. Soon, she found herself bouncing from dimension to dimension throughout the multiverse. She's lived through a couple of galactic wars, quite a few adventures, and worked on a starship. She's seen worlds only dreamed about by others.

But nothing prepared her for a crash landing in Paragon City during a Rikti invasion. Nor did it prepare her for the Clockwork, who took apart her ship while she was out fighting her way to the hardware store for the part her ship needed. She's still finding parts all over the city that used to be her ship.

She's declared a personal war on the Rikti and the Clockwork as a result.

To support herself and her activities, she's become the owner of a technology company called TimeCraft. This company specializes in taking found alien technologies and redesigning and adapting said technologies for human consumption and use. It's a cover for a hodgepodge group of self styled defenders of the Earth, many of whom wear costumes when not working for TimeCraft (and sometime, even when they are!) More recently, she, along with many of the staff, have taken teaching positions at Paragon Junior Supers Academy, while continuing to work at TimeCraft.

So far, "Mellie", as she likes to be called, refuses to wear a costume, (although she's had to register at the Hero Bureau). If she is working the street, she wears either a simple black pantsuit or a leather catsuit to blend into the shadows. She can also be found in Pocket D, mixing with the crowds there, when she's not on a mission. Recently, she started adding a frock coat to her usual ensemble for some adventures; it will be interesting to see if this sticks.

Because of her activities, she has earned the hatred of the Rikti, the Clockwork, and the Menders of Oroborous.

On an early adventure in Croatoa, she met Father O'Bannen as they defended a cemetery against supernatural beings. She was attracted to him, but mistakenly took him for a Catholic priest...

This was rectified a few months later when they met again at PJSA, when several students and teachers were brought into the medbay after rescuing a fellow student. Mellie was brought in due to her first aid skills, and Father O'Bannen came in with a friend of his, Doc Holliday, from the Dawn Academy to help patch students up.

This was when she found out he wasn't so much a priest as well, a student of various theological traditions, some very well known, some not so known. Not only that, but he'd never forgotten her.

Soon afterwards (much to the delight and glee of students and faculty of both academies), sparks flew, and Mellie started seeing O'Bannen (known as Roy to his friends, and of course, Mellie) socially. Eventually, he proposed...and she accepted...

Mellissandria married Roy O'Bannen on Oct. 2, 2011 at the Spirit Lake in Croatoa.

Misc.

Mellie has been kicking around the player's head for some 30 years now in one form or another. Originally, she appeared in a Doctor Who fan publication called "ClosetTales" back in the 1980s. She's also been in numerous rp threads over the years in one forum or another, as well as various games and MMOs (most notably Star Wars Galaxies).

She was rerolled several times before becoming the present version of Mellissandria in CoX.
