Microshock is the most recent villain created by Remianen (player). Her concept came about after a lengthy, heated discussion between friends of different socioeconomic backgrounds regarding the "Stop Snitchin'" movement, most recently detailed in a '60 Minutes' story. She is a solo-only character, except when 2boxed with one of the other Urban Avarice characters. She trusts no one because of a former close associate (outside of Urban Avarice) snitching on her in exchange for a plea deal. What made the matter all the more humiliating is the fact that a few of her "family members" in UA warned her about said associate prior to the incident occurring.

Identity: Public

Supergroups: Urban Avarice

Known Associates: Ursa Auvergne, Serena Smoke, The Refitter, Crimson Commander, Helena Hellcat, Blood Impala

Personality

Microshock is continually distrustful of all people in positions of authority, as well as anyone outside of Urban Avarice. Her experiences lead her to believe that everyone outside the group is a potential snitch and thus, not worth wasting time speaking or dealing with.

Powers

Microshock's powers center around the manipulation of energy for offensive purposes and the control of electricity for protective and augmentative purposes.

Energy Melee

The power she displays most often, Microshock uses the extensive boxing training along with her influence over energy, to heighten the power of her punches. This she seems to do unconsciously and with little mental effort, as she has been known to throw successive combinations, all with energy backing them.

Electrical Aura

The innate ability that most likely contributed to sparing her, Microshock appears to continually run a field of electrical energy around her that seems to have absorptive abilities. This field seems to absorb a portion of all incoming damage, reducing it to a degree.

Character History

Mandariel Montoya was born the third and youngest child of Pablo “Papi” Montoya, a local baseball and boxing figure and Lourdes Montoya, a former Miss Dominican Republic. After an arm injury prematurely shortened his baseball career, Pablo began training as a boxer. Compiling an undefeated record through 67 fights on the island, Papi Montoya became something of a cult figure within his community.

During a joint drug operation spearheaded by the local authorities with powered assistance from the DEA, a battle ensued that spilled onto the streets of Santiago. As a result of questionable judgement on the part of the DEA’s superpowered units, extensive property damage resulted, as well as a death toll in the hundreds. Some of those who perished were the members of the Montoya family. All except Mandariel, who we suspect was spared as a result of her mutant abilities manifesting. Seeking justice, she found that the people responsible for many of the civilian deaths were covered under international liability agreements. This is where we suspect a possible hero chose a different path.

We have yet to discern exactly where contact was made but there is reason to believe that the subject was accepted into the ranks of Urban Avarice. While training extensively, she decided to do a job outside of the group. When her partner turned informant, she was arrested and essentially took the fall for what amounted to an extortion and murder for hire scheme. She was tried and sentenced and imprisoned at the Ziggurat. Shortly after her sentencing, Arachnos staged a jailbreak for the purpose of extracting Mandariel and others, believed to be ‘Destined Ones’. Upon escaping, she reunited with her compatriots in Urban Avarice and, taking on the name Microshock, set about to seek fortune and fame and avoid anyone outside of her group, believing them to be “snitches”.
