Moonlit Rose, usually just "Rose", is a young woman who's moved to the Rogue Isles recently, "for a bit of fun" as she puts it. She lives by her own rules, loving every minute of it and maintaining her unabashed, unapologetic demeanor all the while. She can be seen as Rose Moonlight when visiting Paragon City

Character history

New Resident of the Isles

Rose started her time in the "city of villains" squatting in Mercy Island. Despite lots of grief from the Rippers, it wasn't entirely horrible. On her second night in town, she overheard some talk about an inter-dimensional nightclub, "Pocket D". Never one to miss out on a party, she found her way there. She claims that she only heard it was a club set in its own dimension, and that there was hardly a dress code to speak of, so she showed up in the outfit (or lack thereof) that's given her her small degree of fame.

Getting a place

After several misadventures in her new city, Rose finally got a small apartment in Haven, Cap au Diable. A sketchy neighbourhood to be sure, but nothing Rose isn't used to, besides the muggers having jetpacks and the gremlin-related power outs. She only comes here on the few nights she actually sleeps, spending time with her friends at the "snark corner" at the D seems to be her home away from home.

Visiting, then living part-time in Paragon City

Rose met the older heroine Dynamistress while drunkenly crashing the latter's celebration for achieving security level 50. Since then, the two have had several drinks at the D (Dyna's bartending skills complimenting Rose's inability to choose a drink), and eventually the superheroine invited Rose to come and see Paragon City. During her first visit, the two were caught in a Rikti invasion, but under Dyna's protection Rose made it out with only a slight injury.

Subsequent visits to Paragon led Dyna to convince Rose to agree to join a new group she was forming, although if you ask Rose, she isn't a crimefighter. She also has no hero licensing, for that matter, a tidbit she doesn't hide, but certainly doesn't broadcast.

After a few months of renting an apartment from Dinah, with whom Rose had fallen in love, she got to know the latter's other girlfriend, Julie Surace, and has recently moved into Julie's apartment on the same floor. Rather than finding the polyamorous relationship complicated, Rose, as always, enjoys it with a laissez-faire attitude, but is still getting used to the idea of herself being in love, moreso than the fact she's capable of loving multiple people romantically.

Meanwhile, back in the Isles....

Rose hasn't left the Isles, and in fact lives there at least half the time, in the same apartment in Cap. She's a first year student at Aeon U, major undeclared, but favouring criminology, for irony's sake. She still pays for her rent, tuition, food (including nutripaste, in tougher weeks) through various odd and part time jobs ranging from the barely legal to more notorious (though anonymous) crimes like heists from the Cage Consortium and the like.

Soon after starting classes, Rose befriended La Diablesse and has since been affiliated with the sorority Sigma Iota Nu, not officially a sister but often working and learning under the demoness professor.

Personality

Rose is a very friendly and outgoing person, very confident without being arrogant or egotistical. She approaches people with ease and is even easier to approach. She hasn't been in the Isles for very long, but nonetheless is a very loyal friend to those she trusts, not hesitating to back them up without knowing the other side of the story.

With her choice of attire and lifestyle, even in places like the D, she tends to get a fair amount of insults and chirps thrown her way. Rose never lets it get to her, although she rarely hesitates to fire back a witty retort....if she doesn't happily agree with the person that is.

Choosing, or lack thereof

Rose repeatedly displays a lack of ability to choose or decide on things, such as where to live (she currently lives in both Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, which keeps her very poor despite actually making a half-honest living now), what drink to order (she always says "surprise me!" to the bartender), to name a few examples.

"Freegan"

Rather than a Vegan, who doesn't eat anything that comes from an animal, Rose attempts to be a 'freegan', that is, not paying for food and drink. Obviously, she doesn't live by this religiously, but she's not above using her sex appeal or stealth-assisted theft to get drinks or meals bought for her when money's tight.

Nymphomania

Rose is indeed a nymphomaiac[1], though it's never been properly diagnosed. Her nigh-insatiable libido is likely the reason behind her sense of adventure, her exhibitionism, and of course, her bordering-ridiculous promiscuity.

What Other people have to say (Write what you think of Rose here)

"Rose is one excitin' girl. She's a pretty damn good dancer. Not many people keep me on my toes like she does. Whether it's sneakin' up from behind or givin' me a kiss without warnin'... she makes life interestin' and I'm thankful in more ways than one for it." -Winsome Blue

"Ah, Rose... now there's a lovely one. Lovely, free, and oh so delicious. If she'd been around during the Dark Ages, I suspect the passage of time would have been MUCH less tedious for me." -- La Diablesse

"Rose? She and Dyna make SUCH a cute couple. And what a nice dresser! She'd make a great Carnie, that's for sure... after the revolution, that is!" -Julie Surace

"What, that dancer chick? Yeah, she's fun. Saw her in passin' talking to Professor Dia, and was thinkin' I need to check out her act real soon!" - Alistaire Carson-Davies

Footnotes

  1. Not that she just *really* likes sex, but she almost needs to have it....a lot
