Backstory
In the chaos of the Rikti invasion of 2004 Officer Xanatos, a disciple of Blue Steel, volunteered for an experimental procedure using a variant of a drug that created the short lived feline fire manipulating hero Leona. Hoping to strip out the mutagenic properties and create simple and elegant enhancement formula PPD scientists combined the virus with the super drug Superdyne but before they could run proper tests all hell broke loose and Officer Xanatos valiant volunteer to test out the untested formula. Her final words before she was trapped down and injected will never be forgotten by the PPD.
“It’s a war zone out there. If I go to there now I’m already dead like so many of our colleges. If this kills me it won’t be much different. But if I survive then we might just turn this war around.”
The injections took effect almost immediately as negative energy swirled and rolled out of her body, eating through the restraints and her clothes in no time. Modesty wouldn’t last long as the dark shroud soon completely stole the night of the world from her. But under the murky cloud her body was shifting and changing. Nails contorted and twisted into viscous claws. Nose melting into the lip and a whip like tail took form and midnight black fur striped in navy blue rushed over her body. The PPD on duty will tell tales of the wild animal they heard writhing inside the cloud that would viciously sting them if they got to close.
But within minutes the ball of negative energy rose, and with a husky beast like voice she spoke. “Step aside boys, don’t know how dangerous this stuff is and we need all the cops we can get in one piece.”
And so began Neko’s Law career. She never again saw the light of the day except in those raw instances her newfound powers left her so drained that her dark shroud would stop for a moment. Her body a living nexus of negative energy it rolls out of her pores like sweat and she is never without the dark shroud about her. With the Rikti declaring War in recent months Neko’s Law has taken up a powerful stance in the War zone and is often seen either venturing to Oboros though her personal portal or leading a team of heroes and villains on task forces for the Lady Grey.
Added note: About a year ago as Neko’s Law headed to Demious Innovations in Independence Port for her first radiation therapy to better enhance her powers she emerged from the labs far more feral and beast like, both in mind and body but her commitment to the law pierced even this veil and even this darker, more primal Officer Xanatos proved a righteous and noble woman.
