Personality and RP

Not of this world. Benign and curious, Nuurzhaen descends from a people of unparalleled resilience, strength and intelligence. Her intelligence may not translate well to the oft lauded 'common sense' that denizens of earth seem to regard so highly. Nu has a gentle soul and a pure heart, and this often leads to her looking for and assuming the best in those she meets. She is neither a critical thinker nor a skeptic and seldom thinks to ask questions beyond what she is told. Rustie Steambucket is slowly urging her to a more pragmatic way of addressing the world. They are now romantically involved and Nu cherishes this bond.

Being taciturn and unaccustomed to social contact may give the impression that she is detached or even haughty. It is simply not the case. Nu loves people, but she rarely feels enough confidence to approach and interact with others. She would rather observe and learn about earth's cultures than suffer the humiliation of being rejected in conversation. Fortunately, enough people have approached her that she does have a few friends in this new world.

She does not like violence and prefers peaceful solutions to conflicts. When combat seems unavoidable she will attempt to subdue enemies rather than to recklessly dispatch them. Nu values all life except with the following exceptions: undead and daemons. Undead are perversions of life and are not truly alive. Daemons, being evil incarnate, are in their essence beings comprised of hatred, corruption and unmitigated evil. They are, in effect, conscious manifestations of these things and their dispositions reflect that unerringly. Her encounters with daemons of the Circle, together with her spiritual beliefs, have fairly cemented this view and she is unlikely to accept even 'reformed' daemons as anything other than would-be manipulators.

History

Her story is simple. At home she was a soldier and bodyguard. In the confusion of a battle fairly recently she was unable to prevent her ward and cousin from being lured to and banished by a portal to a world so far removed from their own that hope of recovery by conventional means was impossible.

Nu was able to make her way to earth in an attempt to recover Zhaelan and send her home, but the circumstances surrounding the mission left her here, alone and with no hope of ever returning. She made her adjustments well enough and now, in an effort to be a contributing member of society, has passed the P.P.D. Academy Course for Police Officers. She is assigned to the Paragon financial district primarily, but is tasked with responding to any of the most urgent emergency situations occurring in Paragon City.

Superiors note that she may not be 'detective' material. Yet, initial reviews suggest that her work is thorough. She has shown an excellent understanding of the use of force, has memorized all statutes of Rhode Island and Paragon City and exercises compassion, reason and equity when enforcing state and local laws.

Life has been going well for Nu. There is a pleasant and content routine to her life now. Having come to earth, she could not have imagined being quite this happy.

Equipment

Rustie's friend Jonny Bard has fashioned for each partner a ring that has two metals woven together somehow with a simple red stone in the center. They are cherished symbols their commitment to one another. These rings also have magical properties. When in close proximity to one another Rustie and Nu will feel warmth from the rings thereby foiling attempts at mimicry. Due to an acquaintance with Azari Chimera it was thought necessary given her ability to match in appearance and voice, with perfect accuracy, any being she studies.
