Introduction

((Very rough! Written while at work with very little focus.))

The first Prime Viridian, father of the current Prime Viridian, took the name as a play on the "Prime Meridian." He liked the color green, and at the time he only realized his ability to manipulate time, so the name fit. However, as his powers and his understanding of his powers evolved, he regretted taking on the pun-like mantle.

During the Rikti war, Prime Viridian had a reputation as a savior of the little guy. While most other heroes were fighting the Rikti soldiers, Prime was active in the subsequent chaos and riots, protecting those who could not protect themselves. It was during this time that a riot broke out near their family home. When Prime Viridian found his family his wife had a fatal wound to her abdomen, his son was unconcious, and their home was engulfed in flames. Although Prime Viridian got them both to the hospital, there was nothing that could be done for his wife.

Distraught over the loss of his wife, the original Prime Viridian abandoned being a hero and sunk into depression. Four years passed before he was finally dragged out of 'retirement.' He heard about a villain breaking into a high security Crey facility in Paragon City, and that one of his old teammates had been defeated attempting to stop whoever had broken in. Donning his costume once more, he rushed to the facility only to find the super-powered villain departing with amazing speed. Viridian gave chase, and eventually caught up to him in Siren's Call.

Viridian didn't hesitate, slowing the man's flight and demanding he surrender. The villain turned around, glaring at Prime Viridian a moment before vanishing from sight. Prime Viridian frantically searched for some sort of sign, but it was too late, it was over before he realized what hit him. A pair of energy-laden fists slamming into his head, stunning him and sending him racing towards the ruins below. Viridian didn't recover in time, and smashed into a pile of debris and twisted metal; a large shard of glass embedded in his stomach, his last moments spent looking up as the villain flew away.

Seizing up the tattered cape and mask from his father's costume when the Rikti attacked a second time, Prime Viridian fights to help both human and meta-human alike!

Powers

Like the original Prime Viridian, the latest incarnation has the ability to manipulate the very fabric of reality, albeit in a limited capacity.

Time and Space Manipulation

Prime appears to have the ability to manipulate time in his relative location, giving it the appearance that he moves with incredible speed or even teleports! Although the area that he can manipulated is limited, it appears that he can imbue these abilities to others in a lesser capacity and only for brief periods. In doing so, his power enables others to move at increased speeds. In the same fashion that Prime can hasten an individual to relative time flow, he can also slow an individual's spacetime.

Although Prime can slow or hasten relative time at will, he is not capable of stopping it completely or reversing it's flow; he cannot travel backwards through time. He can, however, travel forwards through time, by slowing his relative time.

Age-Relativity Speculation

In a recent debate with a fellow hero, Shimmerstrike, Prime Viridian has come to the realization that using his powers to manipulate his personal time flow could cause him to die before his friends or live well past them. In speeding up his time flow, he could be effectively shortening his relative lifespan by living his moments at an increased rate. Conversely, should he slow his relative flow, he increases his life-line in relation to the normal flow of time. Although Prime Viridian will always age at a constant rate to himself, others perceive his aging at a differing rate.

As a result of this discussion, Prime has begun a daily ritual where he recounts his day and his daily use of power. For every moment that he spent moving at an increased relative pace, he slows his pace for an equal length and degree. It is his hope that he can equalize his relative age to what it should be.

Matter and Energy Manipulation

Prime appears to have the ability to manipulate the matter or energy contained in beings near him. Altering anything from their density, inertia, and even the force or power of their attacks.

Energy Blasts

Prime appears to have the ability to channel the ambient energies of his surroundings, creating concussive blasts or focused bursts. The first Prime exhibited the ability to envelop his hands in spheres of plasma that would explode on impact, releasing all the energy contained within. The current Prime Viridian has begun to exhibit this power as well, but is developing them in a ranged capacity, propelling the blasts towards his targets. Although these give the new Prime Viridian an advantage of range, the energy used to propel the energy decreases the concussive force on impact.

Flight

By channeling, focusing, and releasing energy in controlled amounts, Prime can propel himself through the air. When combined with his time manipulation abilities, it appears to the outside world that Prime is flying at great speed or teleporting.

Density and Inertial Manipulation

Prime can increase or decrease the density or inertia of an object. Although the bounds of his powers have not been tested, Prime has exhibited the ability to jump over vast distance. He has also been known to effect his team and friends with density manipulation, making them far more difficult to knock down or otherwise manipulate.

History

The Second Coming

The first appearance of Prime Viridian!
Prime Viridian wielding his patented emerald energies!

The second coming of the Rikti also yielded the second coming of the hero called Prime Viridian! At first it was believed to be the same Prime Viridian who had fought during the first Rikti invasion, but those who managed to spot him during or after the battles in Steel Canyon and Skyway City, stated that he was too young to be the original Prime.

Following his last battle with the Rikti, on Talos Island, Prime Viridian has withdrawn from the public eye. It is unknown where he has gone, or what he is doing.
