Personality

Background

Primary Powers

Shadow Manipulation

Shade Girl is capable of manipulating and creating shadows. The extent of this ability has never fully been tested, but she has been recorded blacking out an entire city block. The specific shadowstuff she creates is not inherently netherworldish, but it is exceedingly difficult to penetrate without supernatural senses.

Netherworld Manipulation

A recent addition to her powers is the ability to tap into the shadowstuff of the netherword, creating far more damaging effects than her powers were previously capable of. While originally she was reluctant to work with this energy, in great part due to an encounter with a renegade teammate, recent events have seen her using this power with much greater skill and overall intensity.

Secondary Powers

Augmented Senses

Shade Girl is capable of seeing in complete darkness, typically including any conjured darkness, including her own. Also, her hearing is far beyond that of the average human, capable of hearing frequencies well above the human norm. A whisper a room away is the same as regular speech to her.

Combat Senses

Due to the rather ineffective combat uses her normal powers allow, Shade Girl was trained in multiple armed and unarmed combat styles prior to her arrival in Paragon City. Her teachers included some of the best her era had to offer, making her a significant threat to any opponent.

Technical Skills

Although claiming to not be a scientist by nature, the very fact that she was born in the 31st century makes her knowledge of a number of sciences far more advanced than most 'modern' individuals.

Equipment

Flight Ring

Shady carries a ring capable of defying gravity. The speeds the wearer is capable of depend heavily on the willpower of the user. Shade Girl has, on two occasions broken the sound barrier with it. As a secondary function, the ring also projects a limited energy field for the purpose of protecting the wearer from the rigors of space travel.

Tesseract Belt

Shady's belt contains multiple extradimensional pockets. Objects placed inside are limited to the size of the compartment opening, but actual storage space is yet undefined.

Weaknesses

Shade Girl is very susceptible to sonic attacks and powers similar to those employed by heroes such as Atti Stargleam, due to her heightened senses.

Due to the fact that she can see in perfect darkness, Shady was never trained to fight without the use of her eyes. Attacks aimed at physically blinding her will be far more effective than ones aimed at removing light sources.

Shady has limited patience, despite her martial arts training. She sees little need for 'soft stepping' around an issue and will often be blunt to the point of rudeness.

The very same fact that gives her such advanced scientific skills hampers her functionality in the modern age. She frequently complains about the 'bearskins and stone knives' littering the ASTS laboratory.

She has only recently learned how to read standard English, and her typing skills are poor, at best.

Organizations

Shady is currently a member of the All Star Teen Sentinels.

Friends

Sentinel of Twilight

Atti Stargleam

Omega Lass

Crow Call: One of the personas Shady presented while she was under the effects of temporal corruption believed herself to be a member of the Young Gods of the Golden Age and a close friend of Crow Call. While not true from Crow's point of view, the two girls did develop a strong friendship. Niow returned to her mostly original self, Shady does remember bits of that other life and is determined to maintain and strengthen this friendship.

Bodkin-Girl

Twilight Harlequin

OOC Notes

Originally this was intended to be a minor homage character. She has since taken on a life of her own, and having included a number of elements at her creation, these things have become exceedingly difficult to change in an IC fashion.
