History

Early Years

Steel Fang was born June 8, 1994, in Imperial City (Praetoria) to Kyou and Lianna Fang. Kyou was a die-hard Hong-Kong Action Movie fan and ensured that whenever possible there was at least one movie playing in the house at all times. He was raised in a well-off family. Not too rich, but most definitely not poor. Young Steel was never in need.

By the age of ten, Steel had mastered several martial arts through watching the movies on TV and, as the years went on, through personal trainers. It was his newfound goal to become The Ultimate Fighting Machine™ and surpass the greatest warriors - even the gods! Around the age of sixteen Steel ended up enlisting in the Resistance, having learned of his parents ties with them in hopes of bringing a brighter future that wasn't under Cole's (though mostly unknown) tyrannical fist..

Belt Discovery

Guard duty. It was something the youth despised. Steel Fang loved adventure, being on the front line fighting against the Praetors and their super-tough minions, but nope! Stuck with guard duty, on the lookout within Neutropolis' underground. Every Resistance member took turns at some point, but it didn't mean he enjoyed it. Not at all.

Steel closed his eyes and stretched with a yawn, placing a hand over his mouth as he ended it. One green hue opened just in time to catch glimpse of a white-suited figure dashing past, shortly followed by several bizzare looking monsters. Nothing Steel had ever seen in Praetoria before. He paused for a moment before looking around. Once the coast was decidedly clear he took off after them.

He knew the underground like the back of his hand. While he hated being stuck there, it never hurt to know your surroundings just in case you needed an awesome looking area for an epic battle. They were headed in the direction of a closed-off sewer pipe. The suited fellow would be in trouble if all of those monsters were tougher than him. It took a few minutes but Steel managed to catch up to where they'd gotten to, just in time to hear "...Shin!"

Steel stopped a ways away from the newly created battleground. Three anthromorphic beings surrounded a Sentai-esque figure. He had a red and black jumpsuit underneath various pieces of silver-colored armour. His helmet was crimson and off-white, with green eyes and a grey skull-like mouthpiece. Before Steel had chance to take it all in the four began to battle.

"H-hey! I want in, too!" Steel growled before diving in to the fray, fly-kicking one of the monsters away from their opponent. Now it was two-on-one and one-on-one. "Not exactly fair odds, but I can't let that guy have nothing to play with. Ohohoho~" He grinned broadly before assuming a fighting stance.

The monster dover for him, arms swinging. Steel dodged with ease before dropping down and kicked upwards into the monsters chest.. If it were indeed a chest. The two fought for what seemed an eternity, and he loved every bit of it.

"Move!" A voice came from behind, and Steel jumped back to see the suited man aim two red-and-white guns up in the air before a huge bolt of lightning came down from nowhere, and obliterated all three monsters in one shot. "Finalé." He walked over to the remains of one of the monsters, picking up a belt with a large circular jewel for a buckle before turning to walk off.

"Hey, wait! Who are you? You ain't too bad, y'know? Maybe one day we could even fight if you reached my level. Ohohoho~" Steel placed a hand up beside his mouth as he laughed. The other figure just looked at him from beneath his Skull-styled helm. "Slider." With that he started walking off, tossing the belt over his shoulder towards the youth. "Not what I was looking for. You keep it."

Steel caught the belt and looked at it before turning his gaze back to Slider. "WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS?!" "Put it on, become stronger, save the world... Destroy it.. Conquer it.. Whatever you intend to do with your life." "What do you mean?" He started chasing after Slider, slowing to walk beside him when he caught up. The two continued walking throughout the underground tunnel system as he spoke. "You wear it, and... From the looks of the style you'll need to do more than simply concentrate on transforming into a suit similar to what I'm wearing and say 'Henshin.'" "Hensin? What's that?" "Hen. Shin." He looked at Steel for a moment, before returning his gaze forwards. "It's a phrase to transform into a Finder." "What's a Finder?" "Spoilers. Can't tell you everything, kid. Just find out for yourself and create your own story." Steel didn't look happy with the answers he was given, but he sighed and slid the belt on. "Fine.. Whatever. Where are we going now, anyway?" "We? No. You're going to go back to whatever it is you were doing and I'm getting back to Sniping." "Sniping?" "I already told you, not gonna tell you everything. Spoilers." He stopped and Steel continued, watching him until he walked into something rather solid and metallic feeling. "Oof!" He stepped back to see what it was he'd just walked into. "Buh?" It looked similar to a large containment capsule he'd seen in pictures of some of Praetor Berry's laboratories. The only difference was that the clear-glass was replace with a black alloy. Maybe it was metal? He didn't know. It felt weird when he hit it. It looked barely big enough for one person to stretch inside, but Slider was more than happy to open the container and step inside of it anyway. "Wait! Where you going now?!" "Heh.. When you learn to use that belt properly try and find me. If you do, I'll tell you then."

With that he closed the compartment door behind him and there was a short silence before the capsule began to make an odd whirring sound. It began to fade and soon enough was gone completely, leaving Steel confused and shocked. Even with all the supers he'd met in Praetoria, this was a new one.

"..... AGAGAGHHH. GUARD DUTY!"

And with that? Steel, and his new belt, dashed as fast as he could back towards his post..

Finder Form

It was purely by chance that Steel discovered the motions needed to unlock the belt's abilities. The youth was placed on guard duty once more, keeping an eye out for any suspicious characters and the like. Unfortuantely, simply hanging around doing nothing wasn't to Steel's tastes. In fact it bored him so much he started falling asleep against a nearby wall, arms crossed, similarly to many other times before. It was a wonder they still left him with that role!

"Steel.."

"Nuh... Huh?" The boy awoke, having heard a voice whispering his name like an echo in an empty room. He stood upright, glancing around in hopes of finding what had called his name. It didn't catch his eye at first, but over on the opposite side of that underground tunnelway stood a figure cloaked in what appeared to be living shadows. As soon as he caught it within his gaze, it started moving away. It was too smooth to be considered walking, but it seemed firmly attatched to the ground at the same time. "Wait!" Steel called out, chasing after the figure. Through a short series of twists and turns he chased the figure, until it vanished completed around a tight corner.

"DAMN IT! Where'd he go?!" Steel's eyes darted around, his whole body spinning around several times incase the figure was playing hide-and-seek. Stomping the ground angrily, he let out sigh. It was gone. The boy started to make his way back towards his post. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Steel felt a blow to the back of his head. It was a rarity to catch the young fighter off-guard. While many considered him to be completely idiotic, with the attention span of an enraged squirrel, one of his best-known traits was his ability to see and sense other people around him. Chi, Chakra, Ki, whatever you will. It usually caught Steel's attention before the attacker had chance to even blink. The boy fell to the ground, turning onto his back to look up at his attacker. Surprisingly, it looked to be of the same kin as those humanoid-monsters Slider had fought several weeks before. It had almost left his mind completely until this moment.
Finder Form, V1

"Haha! I beat your friends before, I'll kick your ass now!" He readied himself, hopping up onto his feet and assuming a fighting stance. The boy darted towards his new opponent, flying a roundhouse kick to the monsters' side. His enemy blocked without breaking a sweat. It seemed this one was much stronger than the rest. ".. Huh. You're not bad! Ohoho~! Let's go!" He fliped back a small distance, punching forwards towards it's face with his right hand. Again, blocked. The beast gripped tightly on the hand it had caught, raising a foot with break-neck speed to kick Steel in the chest before he had chance to see what was happening. He flew back several feet, and slid along the ground for a few more. This was going to be a tough fight. Steel loved tough fights, though.

Just as the boy was readying to charge at the monster again, he stopped in surprise. Since the day it had been handed to him, Steel always wore the belt he'd been given. No special reason for it other than he thought it looked cool. The gem in the buckle began to shine brightly before an ornament appeared on the front of it. It was grey, and looked metallic, in the shape of a wolf's head with a cut-out for where the eye would be. It felt loose, though, like it might slide off at any moment. Steel simply pushed it down and across, as was the pattern on the front of the buckle that was cut into the gem, until it clicked.

"ACTIVE!"

The voice came from the belt in a somewhat overexcited, slightly robotic voice. Steel shrugged, trying to remember the word given to him by Slider. "... Henshin?" As soon as he spoke the belt activated, covering him in a padded, form-fitting jumpsuit suit and full-helmet. It was strong, yet light enough to let him know that it would protect him without getting in his way. At the same time he felt energised, as though his stamina had doubled!

"Round two!" He assumed the position once more before charging forwards, jumping up to deliver to feet directly into the mosnters chest. This time it was the monster that flew, slamming hard into a nearby wall. It slid down to the ground, pieces of the wall following shortly after. The monster got back up onto it's feet, charging at Steel. The boy jumped up, delivering a flying-roundhouse kick to the monsters head which sent it straight back down to the ground. This time, it was out for the count.

"Ohoho~" Steel stood proudly above his conquered foe, preparing to speak of his greatness. Unfortunately he was stopped before he had the chance. The same living shadows the had surrounded the figure from before appeared and engulfed the monster, causing it to vanish. Steel's suit dissapated from his form, along with the wolf-head emblem on his belt. ".. Guess that's that.."

What was that monster? What was the shadowy figure from before? Would he be able to fight such a tough opponent again in the future? All the thoughts ran through his head as he made his way back towards his post. None of that concerned him right now, and it was obvious by the huge grin forming upon his features. That was the most excitement he'd had in a long time..

Leaving Praetoria

Steel got used to his belt rather quickly. It was unfortunate, but he didnt't need to use it often at all. While this was the case, The Resistance had taken note of his newfound power and decided it was time to put him to use.

It was a fateful day when Steel was assigned to run a mission with a new team. Steel, Slate, Alastor, Laz, and Klay, and Steel-Shift set out to help fight the Loyalists and their hold over Praetoria's people. As time went on they learned about how bad things really were. The group came to the conclusion that the best route for them was to leave Praetoria, and head to another world known as "Primal Earth."

Steel jumped at the idea of fighting powerful beings that, according to Klay, had even defeated some of the Praetors in past battles. This world sounded fun and exciting, which would help him become the god-surpasser he truly sought to become. It took a lot of fighting, but the group left Praetoria. They'd probably return some day to save their world. Maybe. But until then the newly named Noble Rogues began to make Paragon City their new home.

The Path to God

Time went on, and the rogues disbanded. Klay went on to continue his travels through time, Slate ended up being hired by his Primal Earth counterpart to help continue his legacy with the GENESIS Corporation, Laz met up with ex-professional wrestler Roxy Cotton and somehow talked her into training him to achieve his dreams, Steel-Shift never existed in Steel's mind in the first place - there was only enough space for ONE Steel in this world, and Alastor? He's somewhere.

Steel took off to explore the world. He'd find himself in the right situation at the right time to help fight against giant monsters, and other "big nasties" just like he'd dreamed of. Most of the time it wasn't intentional, either. One time he thought he was a monster in a container, dived into it and ended up being locked inside... Then tossed into a cargo plane and flown to Africa where he assisted in fighting against a super-powered villain attempting to create his new headquarters where a village currently resided.

The months went on. Steel, now seventeen, was enjoying his new home, and the battles he got to fight there. Life took another twist pretty soon, too. It was shortly after Steel had been assigned to help "lead" a raid on the crashed Rikti Mothership in the Warzone. He, along with many other heroes, successfully took down the shields and defeated a huge number of potential threats to Primal Earth.

Steel was making his way back to the Vanguard Base, when a familiar whirring sound appeared behind him. He stopped, turning to face that container he'd seen a little over a year ago form into existance in front of him. The 'door' opened, and Slider stuck his head out, lifting the brow of his white fedora befor giving a two-fingered wave. "Yo!"

"You! ... Uh... Slimer!"

"It's Slider, you idiot. I see you got the belt working."

"Yuhuh! I can now do.. I dunno.. Whirly stuff with my hands! But, I didn't need it. I was already amazing. Ohohohoo~" He laughed, and Slider shook his head with a smirk.

"Want to unlock it's true abilities?"

"What you mean?" Steel raised a brow, wiggling his nose curiously.

"Turns out that belt has a secondary function that will help make you the strongest warrior in the universe." Those words definitely caught Steel's interest.

"... Go on." He crossed his arms over his chest, awaiting a response.

"Wanna go fight an opponent worthy of your skills?"

"... 'Kay." Steel stepped towards to container which Slider was still popping only a portion of his body out of. "But how we gonna do that?"

"Come on in, and I'll show you."

"... But that's tiny. No way it'll fit both of us. Ohoho~! I'm not STUPID!"

"... Just come on in."

Steel reluctantly nodded, stepping into the container as Slider vanished inside. To his amazement when he stepped inside it was as though he'd entered a mansion. It was so vast inside, like he'd just stepped through the wardrobe into Narina. He realised he was looking amazed, and shook it off.

"So, uh.. Neat trick. What'd you do?"

"This is my BOTI." Slider laughed. "It's my personal ship that lets me travel to other dimensions and times. Which is what we're gonna do."

"BOTI?"

"Bigger On The Inside." Steel just stared at him in disbelief. Which was harder to grasp? The fact that a container seemingly big enough just fit one person, uncomfortably, had so much space inside of it? Or that it had such a stupid name.

"... Right. So where we going?"

"You'll see. Just hold on tight."

"Hold on tight to wha--AGH!" The entire room shook as Slider dashed to a console in the corner of the room, slamming a fist down on a button and pulling a lever.

"Let's go!" The entire room shook and rumbled like there was an earthquake going on outside. After a short time it faded, and Slider smirked to Steel while readjusting his fedora. "Shall we?" He pointed towards the door, still looking at the youth.

"... Buh.." Steel shrugged, walking towards the door and stepped outside.

They looked to be in.. Detroit? Steel looked confused, turning to Slider.

"Don't let the familiarity fool you. This is another dimension, similar to how you came from Praetorian Earth."

"And why are we here?"

"For you to fight a worthy opponent."

"And where are we going to find th--" Before Steel could finish his sentence a very loud, very irritable, and very familiar voice started yelling.

"WHY YOU! I'LL KICK YOUR ASS! COME ON! YOU THINK YOU'RE SO HOT? LET'S GO!"

Steel just stared in disbelief as he gazed upon.. Well.. Himself. The main difference being this version had longer, spikier, bright-red hair and an extreme look of arrogance upon his features.

"This is the Steel Fang from this world. He fights in a war alongside many others. This world wasn't invaded by Rikti, wasn't taken rule by Cole.. But there were beings that took fancy to this world and wished to make it their own. Your rather... Energetic counterpart there helps in trying to stop that from happening."

"What are they?" Steel shifted his gaze to an anthromorphic wolf-like being. Not like the Warwolves he'd fought on Primal Earth.. More human-looking, yet not at the same time.

"Kaijin. Mutated humanoids that come from another dimension. But.. That's not why we're here."

"Why are we?" Steel was trying his hardest not to dive into the fray. He hated to miss out on a fight, but it seemed his counterpart was doing just fine. In fact, soon the battle was over and his opponent had been defeated.

"You fight him. If you win, you'll become stronger and your belt will gain new abilities."

"So... I'm fighting myself?"

"Pretty much."

"Ohohoho~!" Steel jumped forwards, swinging his arms to loosen himself up. "Hey! Me! Let's fight!"

His red-headded counterpart turned his gaze to Steel, raising a brow. "Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn? So you decided to disguise yourself as the Great Steel Fang this time, ehhhhhhh?" He cracked his knuckles and stared Steel down. "One problem. I'd never have such a retarded hair color."

"Agagaghh! HEY! MY HAIR ISN'T RETARDED!"

"SHUT UP! FAKER! I'M GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS!"

And with that, Steel and... Steel went at it. The two fought for who knows how long while Slider merely watched. It seemed this world's Steel had a prowess for street-style fighting, putting his fists to work while Praetorian Steel made good use of his Kinetic Melee abilities.

"Steel!"

The two of them looked to Slider. "WAT?!/WHAT?!"

"Green-hair-Steel! Transform!"

"Huh? Oh! RIGHT! OHOHOHOHO~ YOU MIGHT BE ME BUT I AM STILL THE BEST! HENSHIN!" Steel's belt lit up and activated, transforming him into his personally dubbed 'X Form.' This was just enough of a boost to allow for him to win the fight, the red-Steel fell back onto the ground defeated.

"TEMEI... NO WAY IS THIS HAPPENING!"

Steel powered down, the suit dissapating from his form as he grinned broadly. "Ohohoho~ I truly am the ultimate Steel. Now, make me stronger!"

"The hell you talking about?" The fallen Steel raised a brow, staring up at his counterpart. "How the hell do I do tha--ugh!"

There was a loud cracking sound as a bullet flew from one of Slider's guns, shooting right into the other Steel. He died instantly.

"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO?!" Steel jumped towards Slider, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt with a look of rage.

"This is how you gain your power."

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN? YOU KILLED ME!"

"No, I killed another you. And because of your belt he'll live on."

"Explain!" Steel was angry. He didn't like killing people, only monsters and gods.

"Don't you feel it? As his 'soul' leaves him, since you're here, it'll be absorbed by the belt. This is gonna give you a second form with it.. And he'll be able to live on through it. Besides that.." He lowered his head, the fedora hiding his gaze as he spoke calmly. "You're stronger now."

"What do you mean?" Steel was confused, but he stepped back and gazed at his fallen counterpart.

Slider dusted himself off, "We all have a counterpart in every existing dimension. Well, most of them anyway. Our strength is shared out between every single one of them. So if there are one-hundred of you in existance throughout all the dimensions, you only have one percent of your power. Well, one percent just got shared out with every other version of you. If you were to kill the remaining ninety-eight you's? You'd become a God."

Steel couldn't lie, this thought truly did intrigue him. But.. Could he live with the thought of killing himself just to become stronger? His gaze turned down to the floor, silent for several moments as he thought it over. Slider merely watched.

"... Fine. But there's one rule."

"What's that?" Slider tilted his head, slipping his gun back into his suit jacket.

"I only want to fight evil versions of myself. The me's that exist that are bad guys, not good guys."

Slider stared at him for a few moments, genuinely surprised with his response.

"Done. Let's go." He turned to the BOTI, making his way back inside. Steel followed shortly after.

The Story Continues

Abilities/Equipment

Assimilation

According to the One Theory, every person is born with an extremely high statistic in every area. Because of multiple universes existing, however, those statistics are shared out between every incarnation of that person existing within the Multiverse. In example, if there are 100 versions of a person existing throughout 100 universes, each one will only get 1% of their true potential. If half of those no longer exist, the person will get 2%. Now, if through some course of action (coincidence or otherwise) there remains only one version of that person throughout the entire universe, they would receive 100% of their strengths in all areas.

Through his travels with Slider, Steel has fought and defeated several AU versions of himself, causing their strengths to be spread out to every other incarnation of Steel throughout the Universe. While he has sworn only to do this with evil versions of himself, he can not deny the fact that his strength is indeed increasing with each and every defeat of his alternate selves.

FangDriver

FangDriver buckle

The FangDriver is the name of Steel's belt. This allows him to become a Finder, which loosely resembles the heroes from such Toku series as Kamen Rider, and Gokaiger. It is a two-piece belt.

The first piece is the belt itself, with a circular buckle containing a dull, grey gem inside of it as well as a ¬ shaped insertion point within the center of it's design. Secondly is a buckle in the shape of a wolf's head. This attatches via the ¬ insertion point and causes the belt to activate when "Henshin!" is announced. This turns Steel into what he has dubbed "Finder Fang."

This belt also has a secondary function. On rare occasion when Steel defeats AU versions of himself, their soul may become absorbed by the gem in the main buckle. This allows Steel to harness their own personal powers (being as how not all versions of Steel choose the same path, some have alternate fighting styles, weapon trainings, and so on) as well as their differences in personalities when each version takes over.
FangDriver when "activated" with wolf-head attatched.

Assimilated Forms

Steel and his three assimilated forms
Kai Steel

Kai Steel was the first alternate form to have been defeated. He honed his skills in pure punching power, giving him super-human strength. He is also hot-headed and refuses to give up, akin to Praetorian Steel on overdrive.

Assistant Steel

Assistant, or "Valor" Steel has a huge personality difference to the others. He is caring, helpful, and very greatful to anyone who works hard. He is known to give people giftbaskets of muffins and the like as thanks for people's hard work. His fighting style of choice uses staffs.

Savior Steel

While many Steel's throughout the multiverse strive to surpass the gods and become the Ultimate Fighting Machine™, in one world Steel defeated several evil gods from destroying his world. He ended up being raised up as a hero, as this world seemed to have very few of these in existance, and eventually turned his world into a Utopia. While this Steel holds a strong sense of justice, his years as a savior has given him a very royal air to his personality. He tends to let people know that they are being graced by his presence when he makes his appearances, and so on. This Steel had mastered the ability to manipulate the energies around him to increase his fighting strength.

He also goes by self-claimed titles as "Lord Steel", "Grand Oversage", and "Majesty."
