Background
As a native of Paragon City, Laura and her older brother Leonard were immersed in hero-culture for most of their young lives. It is not uncommon for children and even young adults in Paragon to play at being superheroes, but when Leonard and his and Laura's shared group of friends began manifesting a variety of special powers, the "game" was taken to the streets and tested. At age 15 and 16 respectively, Laura and Leonard formed a minor hero group called Sand Castles (a play on the "sandbox kids" term for natives to an area). Its members and aliases were as follows:
Charles Dekant, Charlie Pyre. Magic. Known powers: Fire control
Leonard Reighton, Granite Lion. Mutant. Known powers: Super Speed, Super Strength, Stone Control. The former two seem to be functions of the latter.

Laura Reighton, Indomitable. Natural. No powers or manifestations.
Ziggursky Penitentiary psychiatrists have determined that the source for Laura's alias likely stemmed from feelings of inadequacy in the face of her superpowered peers. Once her hero activities began, Laura set a rigid health and fitness regimen for herself that, while it improved her physical capabilities and overall health, never manifested any abilities other than a normal human's.
Paragon City
Laura's membership in [Information Classified] lasted for a period of about two years, during which the gap between her own capabilities and those of her metahuman peers widened. The mounting tensions within the group culminated in an incident between Laura/Indomitable and Charlie Pyre, the group's resident magician. Neither party has testified as to the actual events, but Laura abandoned the group immediately afterward with her jaw charred down to the bone. The only testimony she has ever given was a single note to her Ziggursky psychiatrist, which read only "It was an accident."
After her break from her friends and hero identity, Laura began to exhibit progressively more dangerous delinquent behaviors. Her crimes slowly escalated from vandalism and petty theft to more serious breaks with the law such as auto theft and assault; most notably, Laura targeted newly begun heroes.
Her fleeting stays in local detention centers ended when she threw a brick at Foreshadow, the premier hero stationed to The Hollows. The Paragon courts being tired of her constant appearances, she was sentenced to Ziggursky Penitentiary.
Ziggursky Penitentiary
Notes recieved from the Ziggursky resident psychiatrists and a few selections of security footage paint a fairly divisive image of Laura's stay in the penitentiary. Her lack of superhuman traits allowed her an immediate advantage over the inmates crippled by the standard-issue inhibitor drugs, but that same advantage put her at odds with the established power structure within the cell blocks. Laura never bothered to establish the same social contacts for mutual benefit common in prisons, and instead spent her effort in straight-up fights for dominance against other inmates. She was put in solitary confinement on no less than fifteen occasions within a 5-month period.
Laura-- by then officially taking up the mantle Unwelcome Storm-- escaped from the Ziggurat during an Arachnos breakout (ref. Project Destiny); however, Unwelcome Storm is not listed on any of the registries of Arachnos-sponsored escapees, and security footage shows that she never spoke to any Arachnos representatives during the escape. Extensive surveillence searching finally concluded that, during the commotion, she simply recovered her possessions, made her way to the prison yard, and hitched a ride on the outside of an Arachnos flyer.
Personality
Unwelcome Storm would often be best described as surly, with her silent demeanor and tendency to resort to violence to solve problems, even when trying to be nice. Written conversations, however, show that when not armed she manages civility, humor, and even a degree of compassion.
Her known hobbies are sparse, as work and an excruciating exercise regime dominate her day to day life. When not exerting herself, she has been seen playing a Nintendo DS and watching movies, primarily Family and Disney in genre.
Unwelcome Storm has a continued resentment of superpowered humans and nonhumans, but for the most part she accepts their presence with resignation and a small amount of envy.
Her attitude towards heroes is somewhat worrisome, as she considers them in a very businesslike manner, and has been noted to respond civilly and even companionably towards them when not in mutal combat. This comraderie does not extend to Longbow forces, and Unwelcome Storm will often go out of her way to scatter and maim patrols.
Blackweb
Unwelcome Storm was originally introduced to the organization Blackweb via her companion and roommate Siktra, during the early part of Commander Elaine's rule over the force. Unwelcome Storm's lack of military training tends to show during group maneuvers, but her silent obedience has afforded her a promotion to Operative. Group downtime tends to be rather awkward, given her lack of vocal ability.
Unwelcome Storm's social ineptness has not prevented her from making several friends among the group, most notably Operative McHale. [[1]] She is currently persuing a romantic relationship with the Operative, a task made difficult by the involvement of Siktra, who had a tumultuous relationship with McHale first. Unwelcome Storm's solution to her friend's murderous tendencies was to set her up on a series of blind dates, culminating in what is refered to only as the Mexico Incident. The damage tally and casualties for these events is still being compiled.
Unwelcome Storm has settled quite comfortably into Blackweb, and despite recent incidents putting her at odds with the group's patron Black Scorpion, she has expressed interest in stepping up her Arachnos responsibilities and has such applied for membership in the Bane Spiders.
