Voidbane

They didn't know quite where she came from, one of the numerous Kheldians who came to fight the Nictus, to defend their families or seek revenge. She stood out, though, in her uncanny ability to track and ambush the Nictus and conspirators she was sent against. She soon became a sought-after hunter... with a bit of a temper.

Known history

After distinguishing herself numerous times, she was sent with others to Earth to investigate rumors of Nictus activity there. Stopping only to destroy a cyst that had become part of Saturn's ring debris, she found Warshades already on the planet, hidden and watching. Admiring their devotion to the cause she followed, she befriended many.

Then she ran into the council's Void mercenaries.

Sending word back, she watched the slow growth of this perversion of the bonding process with alarm. She tried rousing the Kheldian forces to action, sure of the danger these mercenaries would be. Disgusted by their lack of action and devotion to committees, though, she broke from the Kheldian forces to take matters into her own hands.

The Cult

Unbeknownst to her, several other Peacebringers and Warshades broke as well, inspired by her example. They also felt something important was going to happen on this planet, something that could change the course of the millenia-old war. These "hotheads" were scoffed at by the regional Kheldian leaders when they weren't just pitied for "falling for Voidbane's cult of personality."

Voidbane herself never intended for this to happen - and was quite honestly unaware of it, busy in a hunt of her own that took her well out of contact with others of her kind. In her absence, this band - and other, non-Kheldians they'd adopted into their cause - took up the name they were mocked with, becoming the "Cult of Voidbane."

When she returned, confronted with both the Cult and the anger of the governing Kheldians, she sided with the Cult.

"At least they know how to do more than sit in meetings. At least they are willing to sacrifice to get the job done."

Still, running what amounted to a private force wasn't what she had in mind. Leaving the day to day business to her new adjutants, the Warshade Gregor Malkov and a human scientist turned hero, Verge, she was perfectly happy as a figurehead, inspiring others to fight the Nictus menace.

Personality

Driven. That describes her best. Driven and devoted to the eradication of the Nictus, and any who would use and enslave others.

She is generally a loner, out of necessity if you asked her. Yet she also feels a deep responsibility to those who have chosen to follow and fight alongside her. She doesn't want to put any of them at more risk than she has to. Losses happen in wartime, and she accepts that. She just doesn't want to lose any more than ehe'd have to.

In the increasingly rare quiet moments she has, her human host's quiet, artistic side comes out. The base has a mix of paintings of hers - mostly landscapes and starscapes, little moments of peace and tranquility she can give her group.
