The man known as Weapon Omega-X was first believed to have been Captain Omega-X, a respected hero who had seemingly gone rogue. The truth was revealed when the two fought each other high above Atlas Park, at which time it came to light that Weapon Omega-X is in fact a genetic clone of the Captain, engineered to have powers similar to those granted by the Cosmic Crystal. Who created the clone and why has never been established, although Weapon Omega-X's choice of a name, Jonathan Creyson (a conspicuous variation on Jon Greyson, the idenity of the real Omega-X) has caused considerable speculation in some circles. Weapon Omega-X seems to possess most of the memories and powers of the original Jon Greyson, but is also violent and occasionally unstable. The secrets of his creation may never be known, however, as Weapon Omega-X himself destroyed the facility in which he was created during his escape.
