Character History
Synopsis
Early in his life, he was known not as Hatetrain. He was not known as a muscle-bound monster. He was a caring, helpful, and great hero named Gerald the Herald. He was one of the underrated heroes in Paragon, he was a small man, who only knew how best to use a bow and arrows.
It was because of the lack of respect shown to him that he finally cracked. Gerald decided that enough was enough. He wasn't going to put up with the nonsense of not being known, and constantly having other heroes getting the credit he deserved for his hard work and efforts.
Gerald took many risks and entered a whole new world of existence and went looking for a certain group of villains called the Freakshow, who modified their bodies using stolen drugs from Crey Industries and body mods with weapons and other robotic appendages. The Freakshow only vaguely knew of Gerald the Herald but decided that was enough of hero to kill on sight. Gerald fought a good many of them but became overwhelmed in the masses of metal and flesh monsters there. The leader of the hoodlum pack of Freakshow, Dreck, seemed slightly sympathetic towards Gerald and asked what he wanted. When Gerald told him "more" Dreck took an interest.
With Gerald beaten to a pulp, Dreck decided to "help" him, and himself. He immediately set up Gerald for operation, and told Gerald nothing of what he was going to do. The screams of Gerald rang loud throughout the night as the operators literally sent thousands and thousands of volts of electricity through his body, while pumping high dosages of the muscle enhancing drugs stolen from Crey. After a full fourteen hours of this excruciating workout, emerged a newly muscle-bound creature the Freakshow called "Hatetrain"
That wasn't enough for Gerald, but he did like the name, Hatetrain. He told Dreck he'd make it worth his while to give him more. Dreck laughed as three of his men tried to take Hatetrain down. Hatetrain threw the men off of him with ease and even ended up killing one by putting his fist through his skull. Dreck was impressed that in his condition, Hatetrain was able to put up a fight like that, so he obliged Hatetrain's wishes for more.
This time the screams that rang through the night were of pure anguish. The operators were tearing his limbs off one by one. His right arm they tore right off from the shoulder, the left, from the elbow, and both his legs at the pelvis. They replaced those upper limbs with robotic arms with capacitors that concentrated the electrical pulses from the body and used it in melee attacks and to generate a field around Hatetrain. His legs, though incomplete, will allow for incredible jumping heights and distances.
They also rewired his Psyche as well... The instilled in him a bloodlust to keep him constantly on edge. With this newfound psyche and abilities the Freakshow sent him out on his own hoping for the best for a new champion in their ranks. Hatetrain, ignorant of his own powers, came upon a hero and was sent to the Zig.
The Zig was nothing too difficult for Hatetrain to handle for the first three months. Somewhere in the fourth month, havoc broke out in the Zig. Arachnos was breaking Hatetrain out; somehow they had gotten wind of his plans and were going to take him under their wing.
Now roaming the Rogue Isles and climbing the proverbial ladder in crime, he has decided to create a Villain Group called the Scion of Sin.
