Shokbox

I originally made Shokbox as a stereotypical gangbanger, but with powered armor. Only problem was that with RPing, he slowly began to gain his own personality and quirks, eventually becoming what I think is a mash-up of personalities of me and my friends.

Past
Kennith Steele was born and raised in King's Row, fairly normally, but at the age of 15, dropped out of school and joined a gang by the name of the BoneCrushers, to get some extra money. He quickly rose through the ranks of the small group to become the second in command, under the alias Gearhead, due to his little techie pet-projects. The small gang was a tight-knit group of friends, but was broken up after multiple attacks from a new gang, the Skulls, who intruded into King's. After this happened, Kennith began working on a set of powered armor, as a means to get what he wants, and so he won't get pushed around again. While testing the suit out in Mercy, under the new of Shokbox, (A name he had thought of just before the BoneCrushers were disbanded), he was recruited to Sin Enterprises, by Angela Sin. Using the materials he gained access to with his new job, he created the MK II, which he still modifies constantly.
Personality
Kennith grew up as a thug in King's Row, and is very stubborn, usually only listening to others after it is too late. He tends to be quite witty, which sometimes gets him into large-scale wit-fights, and while these can get him in plenty of trouble, he enjoys them very much. His temper has gotten him into much trouble recently, so he is working very hard on controlling his anger. He is a prodigy at engineering, especially when applied to creating super-suits and powered-armor, and loves planning and building them. He acts tough, but on the inside he has a tender spot for women, and has quite a bit of chivalry. He is also a feminist, however strange it is, due to his being raised with his high-achieving sisters.
Affiliations
- Angela Sin -Friend/Employer- When he had first arrived in the Isles, still using the junky E.D.A. MK I; Shok had run into Angela, who proceeded to criticize his armor and point out it's flaws, but mentioned that he had much greater potential than that, and offered him a job with Sin Enterprises. Dispite the shock of being randomly commented on, Shokbox ended up taking the job, and used the extra resources to help in creating his newest armor models.
- SARA One -Ex-Fiance- Kennith first started talking to SARA after she joined Sin as the property of Victoria Nightstone, and had never really liked the way Vicki treated her, and the fact that since she owned SARA, she could all she wanted. When announced that she was getting rid of SARA, Shok, deciding to be kind, bought her from Vicki, as opposed to letting Vicki scrap her for parts. After he bought SARA, he gave the ownership to her, so she could be free and make her own choices, and he also decided to give it a shot and ask SARA on a date. The date went well, and the two began dating. Shok proposed to her quite shortly afterwards, but the the engagement was broken off by SARA.
- Michael Saint -Friend- Kennith has been close friends with Mike ever since they were in the BoneCrushers together, and Mike was known as Fracture. They parted ways when the gang broke up, but met in Cap, where Kennith found out how things had been going for Michael and hooked him up with a job in Sin Enterprises. Since then they've continued to be good friends, with Shok helping Mike with some tech every once and a while.
- Sonik Shreek -Friend- One of the first Sin workers Kennith met after joining, Shreek, who Kennith began knowing as "Lizard Guy" was fairly kind to him, and the two became casual friends. But when Ken got into an arguement and lost his temper, resulting in the near loss of an employee, he had his recent promotion revoked, until Shreek stood up for him. He promised he'd give Kennith lessons in leadership and help him control his anger. This help allowed Kennith to get his promotion back, and made the two great friends.

Powers
He created the E.D.A. MK I for the sheer point of increasing his strength 10x. While it didn't work as intended, it did give him the idea to design around his mistake, giving birth to the Taranis Armor.
Boxing
One day after he had come to the Isles and had joined Sin, Kennith was attacked after exiting the Pocket D, and being without his armor, was unable to defend himself. This promted him to install the teleporter into the Taranis armor, but also to begin taking up boxing. He has vastly improved from when he started, and is fairly known in St. Martial where he fights as being the one to bet on.Taranis Armor MK III
Shokbox's current crowning achievement, the armor following the E.D.A. MK I, took the armor in a whole new direction, channeling the electricity, rather than fighting it. It has almost all of the advantages granted by the E.D.A., but without the many flaws. The new armor is, as described by Shokbox, "Stronger, faster, less explodie." It also took his a mere month to draw up the plans and build the suit, most likely from experience with MK I, and with the better parts his job with Sin Enterprises has given him access to. On this new suit, he uses an external copper trace to channel the electricity outward.
Shokbox officially found a name for his armor as the Taranis Armor. Named after the Celtic God of Thunder.
Since the creation of the Taranis Armor, Shokbox has continued to upgrade it, with the most recent additions being a holographic HUD and the ability to project electricity over distances.
Shokbox planned out and created himself, a cybernetic implant to allow him to link his synapses with the suit, for lightning fast activation. He was forced to use the link-up in a fight against Black Scorpion, with unexpected results. Shok immediatly lost all feeling in his limbs, yet continued to fight, only to find out later that the link had turned both him and his armor into living electricity until the link was severed.
Electric Melee
Shokbox's Taranis Armor uses Sin Enterprises Electrical Compass Chips to divert and direct the electricity flowing around his armor outward, through his punches. This is possible by giving the ionically charged particles a controlled magnetic orientation, and then directing those particals out of the trace. The newest model armor can boost the magnetic charges exponentially, shooting bolts of electricity in ranged combat.
Electric Armor
The more energy that Shokbox transfers to the suit to increase his strength, the more energy is discharged as electrical arcs. He has begun to use this as an advantage, both attacking, and defending himself with the discharged electricity. To protect himself from psychics, (a constant problem) Shok has modded the suit with a slight electromagnetic field, creating what amounts to radio static covering his thought waves to prevent mind-reading.
Jumping
Kennith has recently given up the speed from the original plans for a lighter, more mobile armor, allowing the use of some boots he recently built. Using pistons, the boots propel him upward great distances, and cushion the impact as well.
Weaknesses and Limitations
Without his armor, Shok is effectively powerless, and he has no mental defenses.
