Personality

The Great Britannic is often described as being larger than life by those that know him well. His true personality is relatively unknown as he rarely allows himself to appear as being truly human; he is heavily influenced by his Avalonian benefactors and has become an idealized symbol of the United Kingdom and the virtues of the Fae, at times he comes across as a virtuous and brave leader seemingly knowing what the right course of action is, although clever he has rarely shown a penetrating intelligence and is either incapable or unwilling to see the long-term effects of his actions and base sound decisions from them. Great Britannic has many human based foibles but has always strived hard to overcome them at every turn and is often the most reliable of his group in any situation.

Great Britannic has for a long time now been associated with the hero known as Dame Albion.

Powers

While acting as one of the government agents known as the Royal Regent, the man who would become the Great Britannic was severely injured during an attempted theft. Following members of the group known as the Circle of Thorns back through time 105 years by using the mighty powers of the Sword of Temporal Justice, the Royal Regent's goal was to stop the Circle's mages from trying to extract mystical energies from the place known as Wayland's Smithy, a Neolithic long barrow and chamber tomb, located near Uffington Castle in the English county of Oxfordshire.

The prehistoric site is in fact the location of a hidden faerie ring; a portal door which can lead to the Fae lands and which the Circle had been trying to pry open so they could gain access to the Avalonian Elfan Blacksmithy located there. The Royal Regent stepped in at the last moment and disrupted their ceremony, easily dispatching most of the Circle's forces he fell fowl to an unseen Life Mage who had grabbed him from behind, the mage then detonated itself at point blank range in an explosion of life stealing energy.

Laying there dying of his wounds the Royal Regent witnessed the hidden gateway burst open in a brilliant wash of green light, the figure that emerged from the portal to aid the fallen hero was one of the smith-god's, the one named Wayland. Taking him back to the Fae lands and having members of the Seelie Court heal his fatal wounds, Wayland had decided to reward the hero for his actions in protecting the Fae Realm from danger, he gave to him a mighty weapon which he had forged during the Viking Age; a sword named Calibiannex.

Calibiannex

The sword Calibiannex grants its owner a range of powers and abilities that they can use to defeat their enemies; greatly increased physical strength combined with the nigh invincibility and mystical properties of the swords blade results in a potent weapon capable of causing serious injury, even to those who claim to be totally invulnerable to harm.

The sword also grants super recuperative powers, able to heal from any and all wounds inflicted on the battlefield, even death. In prolonged engagements the sword allows its owner to fight continuously without the need to stop and rest, this super recovery becomes more powerful the more experienced the user gets in wielding the sword.

Should these fail against a powerful opponent the sword can grant temporary bursts of strength and power that should give the user an advantage over their adversary.

Celarnaire

The boots named Celarnaire were forged by Wayland himself during the Second World War to aid the Great Britannic, they allow their owner to move faster than any normal human being can and as the hero becomes more experienced in their use will even grant him the ability to take flight.
