Affiliations
- United States Cavalry: Ashley was given an officer's commission by executive order of President Ulysses S. Grant in 1872, after foiling a plot by renegade Texans to blow up President Grant's train, resurrect the Confederacy and restart the Civil War. She thus also gained the popular moniker "Ashley Porter, Girl Cavalry Scout," which was first used in a series of popular dime novels first published during her 19th century lifetime.
- Valkyries of Asgard: Shortly after her arrival in the 21st Century, Ashley struck up a friendship with several members of this all-female supergroup. Ashley felt an immediate kinship with her fellow female warriors, while also hoping that Asgardian magic might be able to return her home to the 19th Century.
OOC Information
I created Ashley Porter while fooling around with Lionhead Software's The Movies game. I thought it would be fun to have a bunch of movies with wildly different themes, but a colorful recurring character. And thus Ashley Porter was born. I put her into a lot of different situations, but she always stays true to her "Girl Cavalry Scout" roots. Always a spunky Texas gal in the U.S. Army or with an Army background, always a tough, pretty, basically wholesome heroine in films appropriate for the entire family.
