What My Momma Did
The daughter of Harbor and Jenna Jones, Benedict Marie Jones was experimented on and manipulated via a variety of methods while still in the womb. When she was born she was immediately taken away from her father by her mother's associates with The Mindlight Initiative. Harbor eventually got her back but only because those associates were incapable of controlling their creation. He could because he had the ability to become stone which she could not burn.
We're not in Kansas anymore
Life was good. While her mother did her own thing, Harbor and Bendi making a life for themselves in SE Kansas. Eventually the call of duty brought them to Paragon City. Her father took a position working for Mr. Zen of The Zenvious Foundation. Bendi joined them as a student. Both registered as a Hero with the City. She took on the name of Bonfire Butterfly. A moniker previously used by another woman.
Bendi made new friends.
Momma comes back
Jenna, intent on doing what she wanted and being a mentalist, attacked her daughter. Slipping into a coma her friends stood vigil. Little Zoe eventually entered the young girl's mind and brought her out.
Eventually her mother came back. This time Graff ignored Bendi's please to stay with her and went after the woman. He was caught, tortured and blackmailed. If he would kill Mr. Zen then she would forever leave her daughter alone.
Anger runs away with her
Throughout this time Bendi struggled with her own anger and frustrations, even her abilities. At one point she ran off, it taking Mr. Zen and another Foundation member working together to bring her home. Mr. Zen himself took the brunt once by letting her fight him in the day, loosing everything she had. He took injury but felt it necessary. She respected him even more after that day.
She also took refuge at one point with Blackbird, Mr. Zen's girlfriend.
Bendi and Graff delved into a relationship but they were incompatible. His decisions and choices did not reflect her own. In fact hers did not reflect that of a few people, not the least of which was Alice Littlefield.
