Cybernetics Incognito Distribution (CID) - An organization that Anita founded upon the outskirts of Ankara, Turkey. An ambiguity in itself considering Turkey isn't largly known for its cybernetic industry, though through her savvy and calculated nature she was able to create a financially stable organization that provided cybernetic limb replacements at an affordable price to the world at large, Black and White fund raisers were often raised to allow limb replacements to unfortunates who were caught in the middle of war torn countries. Eventually board members were able to garner the fiscal earnings of their competitors, and what they saw greatly piqued their interests as those who developed weaponized versions of their cybernetic civilian counter parts along with combat chassis guided by sophisticated AI systems were able to garner additional millions if not billions to their earnings if their products were bought by developed or developing nations. Being intelligent doesn't always mean you make the smartest of choices and with the backing of her board members, Anita built a factory dedicated to the improvement of the worlds so called "future weapons". Needless to say CID R&D seeded ideas from other successful companies and in turn their successes were reached as country after country bought out their services.

Time Line

December 21, 1969 - Anita De Ayla was born to Tiffiny De Ayla, Gregory De Ayla died a month before Anita was born in an Iron work factory accident.

Personality

At the best and perhaps the worst of times, Anita can appear to be arrogant and sultry in her mannerisms, a combination best left unmatched and yet in Anita De Ayla alias Damnatio Memoriae they seem to come together in a manner that readily compliments each other even if at times her intellect drives her past the point of what should have been simple civil conversation to a heated argument when particular subjects are breached.

Often she tries to remain calm, collected if not detached if in new surroundings. This is often the case as she's not a native resident of the Isles and finds the "Might makes right" mentality of a majority of its residents rather unnerving at the best of times. Though she's been able to adapt to this particular lifestyle and finds it a bit refreshing, just as long as its against the Arachnos cause and Crey Industries.

Though away from the limelight and whatever complications that seem to follow her as she goes about her business, Anita has a soft spot for the simple things in life, like sleeping in or lounging upon a comfortable couch as she sips Egyptian Camomile lightly sweetened with honey. Even further into her personal life Anita would probably drop dead if the world knew that she was an aspiring mechanic, Anita's mother Tiffiny kept all of Gregory's tools as he was a part time mechanic along side with being a steel worker, keeping two jobs to support the family. In the end Tiffiny couldn't part with one of the things that her late husband simply loved to do, Anita would never know her father and yet through the stories that she learned from her mother, Anita knew she wanted to be a bit like him.

One of her more notable socially acceptable "talents" and quite possibly one thats saved her numerous times would be her ability to bartend, learning "Mixology" in her college days, further refining her talents underneath the guidance of her late fathers grandparents who owned a pub in the heart of Ankara. A part time job that she did in her younger years, it quite possibly could have been her career if it hadn't been for David Ulric, a medical doctor who specialized in prosthetic limb replacements, who introduced her to the idea of further augmenting prosthetic limbs with cybernetic components.

Abilities

Requiem Units - Anita was cursed by an elderly Roma to carry the anguished souls that her weaponized creations had taken. These "souls" came to life in her cybernetic creations that she aptly named "Requiem Units" before they had become possessed, the name stuck and even to this day a subtle smile escapes as she finds a sense of dark humour within the name. These bipedal combat chassis are guided in part by her will and the souls which reside within.

There are three variations of the Requiem Class Cybernetic Combat Chassis.

Drones - Standard issue front line combat automatons, armed with "Phoenix Mk.2" class plasma cannons. All Requiem unit's are equipped with Paramilitary Artifical Intelligence Network (P.A.I.N), able to download live feed readings of their current situation from satellite surviellance, allowing them to make split second decisions to better accomidate a positive tactical outcome.

Guardians - Specialized Triage automatons, while equipped with standard Phoenix Mk.2 cannons. They're able to anchor a force field (Reverse engineered from Sky Raider drones) upon a centralized location. As part of their programming, Guardians are able to do on the spot field repairs upon damaged Requiem units.

Frontal Assault - To simply say that the Frontal Assault Requiem automaton is nothing more then a walking weapon is an understatement. Equipped with standard Phoenix Mk.2 Cannons with variable firing modes and multiple payload "Havoc" missles strapped to its massive rig give this metallic beast an advantage in ranged combat.

Low Stratosphere Airship - The Dauntless, Anita's personal creation houses an automated manufacturing plant which creates, repairs and houses a thousand "Requiem Units" at any given time. The Airship itself is piloted by a AI system with an integrated homing system that allows the airship to "follow" above, allowing quick deployment of her creations. A teleportation tracking laser is also mounted upon the Dauntless, allowing Anita to "transport" those within range to her location.

Dark Miasma - Anita's soul has been smeared with the sins of her creations, countless lives have been ended through her actions and while the burden seems to increase with every step forward, she's able to conjure a physical manifestation of her soul to "help" herself or to hinder her foes. Though with each rise of this miasma, she's reminded of her misdeeds.

Crey - The sleeper agent which ruined Anita's reputation was an employee of Crey Industries, sent into her facility to sabotage her life's work. Though while they failed in one aspect, CID is still manufacturing cybernetic limb replacements and their warfare equivalents. Anita will never forgive them for the curse that was laid upon her.

Arachnos - Arachnos tried to push their weight upon Anita, thinking that while she was in the Isles she'd convert over and add her expertise to their organization. Fifty Arachnos soldiers lay dead or dying in her wake as she calmly left their holding facility with her robotic entourage in tow. Needless to say Arachnos and Anita don't get along.

Stories

A Case History

"My name is. . . Damnatio Memoriae, but you may call me, Anita." - Excerpt from Ankara Daily News interview.

Anita De Ayla, a few years before the world community would begin to know her as Damnatio Memoriae. The events which lead to her "downfall" were eventually guided by a malicious imposter. A sleeper agent in the guise of a top level project manager, hired with high references to begin the weaponization of particular trade arms of CID.

On a day which should have been like any other open field test day upon the outskirts of Ankara, forty bipedal combat chassis robots armed with what was believed to be field mock weapons were seperated into equal groups and for that day they were to be used to test the AI systems aboard as they waged "war" upon each other.

Almost immediately the robots turned upon their holders and in an unwavering instant killed the majority of the R&D team along side the PR group which were taking photos in preperation of an upcoming press event.

Very few of the CID employees present that day survived without being physically or psychologially scarred. Though it would be the caravan of Turkish Roma which passed nearby that would suffer the most that day.

Women, children and men. Young or old it didn't matter as the automatons waged their war upon the unarmed and those that tried to defend their family or friends were quickly subdued. It was then in her dying breath, an elderly Roma cursed their creator, another hour would pass along with fifty more lives before these creations would be stopped by the company which had created them.

But by then, the damage had already been done in more ways then one. News of this event spread like proverbial wild fire, from the major pushers of prime time to the lowly news stand worker. Everyone would know of the massacre or more aptly named "The Cleansing" by the more conservative who viewed cybernetic weaponry as the pinnacle of human deprivation.

Though CID wouldn't be in the limelight for long as the Rikti appeared within the skies, alien heralds of death and soon Anita and her company became back page news as heroes rose to protect the world. If it weren't for the Rikti appearing, CID would have gone bankrupt within months of settling court cases for all those that had perished. The world had seen through camera footage and indepth photography of what CID's "future weapon" creations could do. Countries, organizations and anyone who could foot the bill ordered what they could of CID's back stock and placed orders for new units.

The manufacturing lines of CID never ceased production and a new brain trust was thrust into the CID R&D department to make up for the losses month before, though this time around they were fully monitored by armed guards with specific instructions to make sure that another incident wouldn't happen. During this time Anita fully grew aware of what dwelled within her, the "curse" manifested the ill will that her creations were doing to the outside world. Though it wouldn't be years before she knew the true reason behind her misfortune was due to an elderly Roma cursing her with her dying breathe, the only survivor of "The Cleansing" a fifteen year old boy would tell her before he spat upon her shoes.

Rumours

(Place anything that you think you've heard about Anita De Ayla alias Damnatio Memoriae)

Random Facts

- The literal latin translation of Damnatio Memoriae would be "Damnation of Memory", a form of dishonour saved only for those who've disgraced or discredited the Roman State.

- Originally an Ice/Ice Manipulation Dominator, she was retconned to become a Robotic/Dark Miasma Mastermind, yeah I know. So off the original path. Though I believe I've come up with a new character concept that I'll enjoy roleplaying.

- Damnatio Memoriae was originally going to be a part of a small story arch (when she was a Dominator) though unfortunately it never got off the ground. Eventually Damnatio was retconned into her current state.

- Anita when angry (which seems to happen from time to time) can go into what some people have happily called "Swearing tangents" , though lately she's been able to control her verbal urges.

- Her theme song would have to be Divide by Assemblage 23
