Childhood

Alex was born on May 21st to Renee and Madaline Benoit in the city of Toronto. He was the youngest of four sons and had to suffer through the same baby treatment that every child does.

As a child Alex grew up like any normal kid would. A normal kid who was part of a set of quadruplets (Ferdinand, Robert and Kristophe). His parents were both teachers in the local high school; all in all it was a quiet suburban life. He ran around playing tag and pretending to be a super hero just like every little boy in his neighborhood.

It was when he turned fourteen that things began to change. Headaches became an all too frequent norm for Alex. His parents worried that something was terribly wrong took their son to the hospital only to be dismissed when tests came back negative.

Awakening

The headaches only seemed to get worse; his parents were at their wicks end. They traveled from doctor to doctor trying to find one that knew what was going on. Each time they came up with the same result, the headaches were simply migraines and nothing more. It was a night in December when an explosion rocked the neighborhood that Alex lived in. The house that he lived in for fourteen years turn to rubble with the young teen in the center of the damage.

The police and fire department were called to the scene and found the shivering teen, they immediately tried to take him into protective custody, hoping to find the next living relative. Alex struggled against the cops not wanting to leave the scene, not wanting to believe that his entire family was gone. His powers emerged again, this time sending a psychic shockwave through the area, incapacitating everyone near by.

Alex didn’t know what to do, had he been the one to kill his family? Was it his entire fault? The teen did the only thing he could do, he ran. He had heard stories of Paragon City, that people could go there if they needed help…

…The help he received was not what he was expecting

Institutionalized

When he arrived in the city, he was worn down. The constant headaches and the voices he heard did nothing to make people believe that he needed help. It was then his second personality emerged; simply known as Fernando. The demands were clear, that he wanted to be helped and he wanted to be helped right away. Unfortunately, the response of the hospital he went to was to put him away into a psyche ward.

Alex stayed in the institution for three years, battling his own personal demons and the emergence of more personalities. The psychiatrists were completely stumped, they could not figure out why Alex was having the problems he was having. Instead, they kept him drugged up to keep the other personalities at bay, at the same time the drugs seemed to calm his headache and the powers that were lying just out of his control.

Even with everything under control (with the help of constant medication), they hospital would still not let him out. Slowly, he began to travel down the road of depression, the three voices in his head becoming louder than they had ever been.

You’re a Mutant

He had just turned seventeen when a man arrived to speak to him. His name was Antonio Nash and he was a mutant. It had never been something Alex had considered before, he just thought he was crazy (even though he didn’t feel crazy…); it was what he had been told many times before. However, the new idea gave him the chance he had been wanting, an escape from the institute. As much as they had helped him with the pain and to control the emerging personalities, he didn’t want to live his life locked away on a constant stream of medication.

He agreed to anything and everything that Nash asked of him. Training with other mutants to help learn to control his powers, promising to work for him anytime that he needed it, it was the least that he could do.

Personality(ies)

Alex suffers from multiple personality disorder. When off his medications, he has three other distinct personalities. The first is known simply as Robert. Robert tends to have a more flippant attitude about things, caring more about things of a sexual and sensual level than anything else. The second personality is known as Fernando. This personality is the one that Alex will sometimes hide behind when he’s in danger or upset. Fernando is rooted in anger. He is demanding and has no problems telling things how it is. He’ll come off as a bastard, yet the personality is extremely protective of Alex. The third personality is known as Kristophe. Kristophe is the calm and intelligent personae. He represents a more studious and proper individual, preferring the company of books over the company of others.

Alex’s real personality lies as a combination of the three. At times he can be shy and skittish, but if he finds someone he is comfortable with he is fiercely loyal and protective of them. He has a goofy sense of humor, finding humor in the most random of things. He does have a temper though it is very hard to ignite. But, when it is ignited people better run for cover.

Powers

Alex’s powers are based on a crude form of telepathy and telekinetics. Unlike many psychics that have more finesse in their attacks, his go directly to the brain and disrupts the neuromodulation process keeping the neurotransmitters from regulating the population of neurons that flow through the brain. By doing this, his telepathic powers can cause random effects ranging from severe pain to a euphoric sense of joy to strong erotic emotions.
