Originicon mutation.png Origins of Power Archetypeicon blaster.png

It's more than likely that the source of Pep's power is her parents. Well, their former use of recreational drugs, to be exact. They experimented with just about anything they could get their hands on, and when they found out Regina was pregnant in early 1993, the couple swore off drugs completely. That didn't change the fact that there were massive amounts of experimental drugs running rampant in Regina's system ... and affecting her unborn baby.

Originicon mutation.png Background Archetypeicon blaster.png

She's not that much of a mystery. What you see is what you get. She's a bubbly, optimistic teenager who spews out corny one-liners at her foes and finds fun in just about everything.

She is friendly, sarcastic, corny and naive. She enjoys life and loves experiencing everything about it. She likes being called Pep, as her real name given by her parents is Moon Unit. Her parents were hippies and experimented with drugs heavily in their younger days. I know, hippies in the 80's? WTF. Pep is a child of the 90's, as in she was born in 1993 during the Phillies run to the World Series. Even though they live in Paragon City, her parents are huge Phillies fans. Luckily for her she wasn't a boy, or her parents would have named her after Mitch Williams.

Pep found out about her powers by accident. She was playing Guitar Hero and was so fast that she actually melted the controller in her hand by way of radiation. Ever since that day, she experimented with her powers and even told her parents. They encouraged her to use her powers to "fight the man" ... Hell, her mother made her costume! Instead, she decided to help those less fortunate than she and her fellow heroes.

Originicon mutation.png Family Life Archetypeicon blaster.png

She grew up as a normal child with loving, supportive parents. Her father Gary, is a former hippie who never worked a day in his whole life. He inherited his fortune from his parents. Her mother Regina comes from a strict Jewish household, and Regina wasn't allowed to date a boy unless he was Jewish also. When the two met, they knew it was meant to be. They were married 2 short years later, and then after 5 years of trying to get pregnant, they finally had success. The baby was born in September of 1993, a healthy baby girl. They named her Moon Unit as a joke. That's right, Pep grew up as Moon Unit Horowitz. A name she was teased for mercilessly in grade school until her parents allowed her to legally change it to Kelly Howard. She has a brother named Gary Jr, who is just 10 years old as of this writing. The family also has a pet dog named Roxy.

Originicon mutation.png The Gold Corporation, Maximilian Gold and Her Fellow Heroes Archetypeicon blaster.png

  • Maximilian Gold - Max. Max, Max, Max, Max, Max. Ugh, what can I put down here about him? He brought us all together for some reason or another. Said something about knowing our ancestors. Not just our parents, but like our grandparents, great grandparents and so on. Says he's protecting us. Ya know, at first, I woulda believed him. Now I'm having my doubts. I hope my doubts are put to rest soon.

  • Red Cutter - Terry Cutter ... A mystery. Sometimes brash and callous, sometimes kind and caring. Yes, I can see that in her. She's misunderstood and needs a place to feel like she belongs. I think she belongs with us. Terry thinks she's a monster. I don't see a monster at all ... I'd trust her with my life.

  • Girl Crush - Dee is a classmate of mine, as in we go to the same school. We don't hang out together in school, mostly because of our two different circles of friends. Also, she's in all those advanced courses. I'm only in college prep courses. I'm glad we can hang out in The Gold Corp. She's pretty cool! And smart too! Dee calls herself a "tinkerer" I think she's smarter than she gives herself credit for.

  • Head to Head - Double H kinda creeps me out because he can inhabit other people's bodies by way of their minds. Who knows if he'll ever turn on any of us and try to control one of us? I have to give him the bebefit of the doubt, though, because he seems very genuine in his actions. Hmm ... maybe he's less creepy than I thought ...

  • Riviere - Riviere is a new addition to the group, and so far, very helpful. I still don't know much about her yet, but that will hopefully change in time. She's a very understanding individual. Riv, or Kate, as she likes to be called by her real name, is gelling very nicely with the personality of the team. She knows when to speak up, when to listen and when to be quiet. Some things I could learn to do, yes?

  • Aeromentalist - Always the optimist ... Aero, oh he's such a nice guy. He's very concerned for everyone on the team and it shows. He's a bit odd at times, but thats okay. And I mean odd in the nicest way possible. If there's anyone I trust with my life as much as Terry, it's Aero.

  • Discord - Another new member. Well, I think he dresses snazzy and he's pretty cool. Anyone that can do what he does with music can't be bad, can they? DJ Discord has seen a lot in his day. Veteran of a similar hero team, he has some reservations about this team it seems.

  • Zeta Golem (on hiatus) - Unfortunately, Z is out on hiatus and can't be with us for a while. I hope all is well. He's strong and fearless. What more can you ask for?

  • Johnny Electro (on hiatus) - Johnny rocked when he was with us. He is another young gun, but he held his own. Hopefully, he'll find his way back to us.

Originicon mutation.png Pep's Blog Archetypeicon blaster.png

  • 4-1-10 - I had a complete breakdown this week. My best friend Stacy was murdered. I am hurting big time right now, and very confused as to my role in this whole superhero thing. See, Stacy was on her way to Pocket D in King's Row and was caught in the middle of a fight between two supers. One of them let off an errant blast and killed her. An innocent 16 yr old kid. And it was all because of this superhero crap. I was a wreck in this past week's team-up. My teammates noticed right away (I guess my attitude and dressing in all black was a huge clue) something was wrong. They were incredibly supportive and I have to thank God for them. If not for the support of my friends, I really don't think I'd be writing this blog. Dee spoke privately with me during our missions, which helped a lot. Also, Riv lent a sympathetic ear and some advice, which was nice too. Aero showed his concern. Hell, everyone really made me feel like I wasn't in this alone. A special thank you goes out to Terry, who took some time after the missions to take me aside and really talk to me and try to help me understand things a lot better.
  • 4-15-10 - Okay, I'm worried about Aero. We met up with Penelope Yin and she told him about his presumed-dead brother. Oh man, he was having dreams about him lately, but couldn't make out the meaning of them. So, Penelope sent us out to a warehouse to find Aero's brother. We thought we had defeated him, but I guess we didn't. We kept searching for clues, found a shadow of his brother, then off we went again in search of the truth. Aero was really shaken up by this. We finally met up with Roarke (I think that's his name) in the bank vault. He had us pinned against the walls literally. It took a lot to finally subdue him, and we finally had him down. Aero couldn't believe that his dead brother was somehow under the control of the Tsoo. Max made a rash decision regarding Roarke on behalf of the whole team and it rubbed a few of us the wrong way. I understand that Max is trying to help Aero with this decision, but he really needs to consult the whole team before making decisions that affect us all. All the Max business aside, I really hope Aero is okay.
