Madam Nuke is my first defender, and an attempt at an upbeat and cheerful character.

Personality

Cheerful, old-fashioned, polite, but not afraid to voice her opinion. Some would say she acts like a "Flakey aunt". Her condition does not cause her much agnst or depression. "I'm alive, healthy, and a superheroine. Why should I be sad?" She's also known for calling people "dear" and "hon" much of the time.

History

Cynthia was tagged as intelligent at an early age. Academic success did not come easy to her like it did some geniuses, though. With encouragement from her family, she studied her way to degrees in medicine, specializing in radiology and radiation treatments.

In time, she was doing research work on new kinds of cancer treatment, married a doctor, and started a family. Things were going well.

After several happy years, though, the demands of their carrers drew them apart, and they divorced. Cynthia focused on her work on a revolutionary new form of radiation therapy. But as the project was near a breakthrough, she was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.

Having nothing to lose (in her mind), she planned to try the new and untested treatment on herself. The treatment would involve using another treatment developed by Crey that made a person highly resistant to radiation. They would then be infused with radioative particles, which would not affect them, but kill the cancer or disease in their system. Cynthia enlisted the help of a lab assistant and tried the treatment.

However, things did not go as planned. The cancer was killed, but the system to remove radiation from her body was not effective. The resistance treatment was used on her full strength, saving her and keeping her alive, but she was left highly radioactive.

For her actions, her license was suspended for 3 years. Her partial success did still earn her some prestige in the medical world. The corp. that funded her project provided her with a special home and suit that allowed her to live with her condition, in return for being able to study her, and keeping her as a researcher.

Although never thinking of herself as a hero, she applied for a license. She joined SERAPH, giving both her powers and knowledge to the cause. Not to mention an excuse to get out of the lab, or her special home.

Powers

Has no "superpowers" per se. However, by opening special ports in her armor, she can release some of her radiation, healing, hindering, or even injuring, depending on how much she lets out.
