Personality

Matt is still new at being a hero and having superpowers. He is not completely sure of himself, but you'd have no idea about that by the way he talks. He covers up his insecurity by talking alot of game and being extremely cocky. This helps him create a shell that keeps those who he doesn't want to share his past with out. As he discovers more of his powers and practices with them, he starts to grow more confident in what he can do and even begins taking charge when the situation calls.

Biography

Matt was born on a planet far away from our planet. His home planet is a lot like earth, which is why his birth parents chose it to send him to. He and his mother and father are the last surviving creatures from the planet Resmir, a planet torn apart by a war. Matt's parent's only rarely reveal themselves to him. Only during times of great stress in his life do they come to visit him, and it is only in the form of a dream.

He is registered as a mutant on his ID, because when he signed up to be a superhero, he assumed that is where his powers came from.

Matt was delivered to an adoption agency in southeast Nebraska. He was adopted before he would ever remember anything that had happened, and still has no recollection of the war or anything that happened to him before being taken to his new home in Falls City, Nebraska. He was raised there by his mother and father until he was 18 and left for college. Matt's mother then told him that he had ruined the image of the life she had wanted, and that Matt was a mistake and was never supposed to happen. Matt dropped out of college not long after that and moved to Paragon City, RI in search of a better life.

Matt's powers surfaced the day before his twentieth birthday. He was sitting on the balcony of his apartment when he noticed a large semi barreling towards an elderly lady with no way to stop. As Matt panicked, the ground turned to quicksand and the truck stopped dead in it's tracks.

Matt's powers lay dormant for some time after that. He continued his job at the video game store and had frequent nights out with his buddy, Lance. Eventually, he met and began dating a young girl still in medical school named Meghann Stanley. The two were together for almost a year and a half before Matt finally proposed. The two were married in early June.

Matt is worried about the effect his powers will have on his fiance and their relationship. Meghann knows of Matt's power, however, he is constantly worried about whether or not it will put a strain on their love as he is constantly being thrown from one side of the city to the next, and even across dimensions in some cases.

Lately, Matt has been having very strange dreams. In the dreams, he is awakened from his bed to see two very large silhouettes standing across the room. As they step into the moonlight, he sees that their skin is rocky, much like his can become. However, they stand easily eight feet tall, with two-thirds of their height being made up by their legs. Their torso and head is all one section, and their arms are just as long as their legs.

The creatures motion for Matt to follow them, but this is always when he awakens in a cold sweat. He has mentioned the dreams to his fiance, but has not said anything to his fellow Angels, as he doesn't want to upset any of them and cause a ruckus.

Strengths

Matt's ability to to use the earth to hold and contain adversaries and would-be evildoers is nearly unparalleled. Once you feel your foot slip into the bubbling quicksand and a tower of rock shoot up over your head, you are going to be trapped until Matt chooses to let you free.

Limitations and Weaknesses

Almost all of Matt's power is based off of the earth's crust. Therefore, he has a particularly difficult time with airborne enemies. With his recent acquisition of rocket boots, he is learning to better combat this weakness.

Powers

Matt's extraterrestrial heritage has reacted with the earth's crust, forming a superhuman bond. Matt has an empathy for the earth's crust, and can feel when it is under large amounts of stress (such as the Hollowing incident).

Earth Control

Encasing any and all opposition in solid granite is only the beginning of Matt's ability to control the earth's surface. Matt can summon localized earthquakes, shoot jagged spears of rock up from the ground, and snare his foes in liquidy quicksand. One of his most notable abilities is taking loose rocks from the terrain around him and fashioning them into a crude stone man.

Geothermal Gasses

Also a deadly part of Matt's arsenal, he can lift lethal radiation up from beneath the earth's surface and focus it on his foes' nervous system. The affected targets immediately become enfeebled, barely able to defend themselves. Combined with Matt's ability to form and manipulate the immediate shape of the earth's crust, Matt can be a force to be reckoned with when he's on the ball. Matt can also focus this radiation into the bodies of his allies, making them hit harder and faster.

Matt's power to manipulate these gasses has grown so quickly that he has become unable to adapt and contain the gas on his own. He has since visited scientists working for D.A.T.A. who developed regulating gloves and shoulder pads for Matt to wear in order to better handle his growing powers.

Magma Generation

Since Matt is practically a living, breathing volcano, his body also generates magma within itself. Matt has to expel this magma before it grows to levels his body cannot handle. The level of magma within himself has never gotten to this level, but Matt is certain that bad things will happen if it does.

Travelling

While Matt used to rely on his own power to rift apart the ground beneath him and propel himself forward, the city of Paragon issued him a warning regarding the amount of damage that was being done unneccessarily to the streets and sidewalks. Luckily, Matt's buddy, Serge, from the Icon Tailor in Steel Canyon hooked him up with some nifty Rocket Boots allowing Matt to hover over the skies of the city he protects.

Useless Trivia

Are the magical hand gestures and over the top motions necessary for Roxster to do his thing? Not really. He could sit around in a chair all day and have the same amount of power, however that doesn't look as exciting on TV!

Roxster's theme song is "Send Me An Angel", as covered by Thrice.

Roxster has always been fairly modernistic, however when he proposed, he did it the old fashioned way and cooked Meghann a lovely dinner of chicken and rice and a twice baked potato.
