Character History

Harry Haunt, a name that was known well in the Rogue Islands. He was known for his seasonal Halloween costume shop and his extravagant costume parties. It was Harry's passion, to create wonderful and horrific costumes that would strike fear in the hearts of even the toughest of villains. He stitched his costumes with utmost care, spilling his twisted imagination into his work. When he donned his costumes it was a part to play and he never broke character. His first and most popular costume was one he called "Frightmare", the master of ceremonies for his Halloween Balls. Everyone knew that Harry was a bit "off his rocker", but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary in the Isles.

Harry saved his earnings from working as a janitor at the Rogue Island Asylum. His savings went to a haunted house that he was building in Cap Au Diable. In the house he would truly get to practice his art of scare. On the Halloween of 2000 he opened it to the public. Teenagers from all over the Isles gathered to see Harry's newest creation. The House was horrifying, all over were fake dead corpses that looked so realistic that you'd think maybe they were real. Though Harry hired a few guys to help in the house, he saved the climax for himself. Dressing in his usual Frightmare costume, he also dressed in the persona of the character. When the frightened teens got closer to the exit Frightmare waited. Using smoke and lighting, Harry was able to create a haunting atmosphere perfect for his act. Frightmare flew from the ceiling like a bat to greet the teens. He chased them back into the heart of the house, preventing their escape. They ran with his blood curdling cackle shortly behind them. Harry's frightfest came to a abrupt end when a teen got an asthma attack. Unable to break character Frightmare attacked the fallen teen till eventually the other kids pried him off. After being brought to the hospital, it was confirmed that the teen died. Harry's Haunted House was then closed indefinitely and he was taken in custody until he could be put on trial.

Harry was sentenced to six years in the Ziggurat Correctional Facility. In 2006 Harry was free - an enraged man. He had so many Halloween's to make up for, so he began his frightfest right away. Once again becoming Frightmare, Harry stalked under the cover of night. He preyed upon unsuspecting civilians, getting enjoyment out of the screams they all made when he jumped out at them. He loved it the most when they would faint from fear. Frightmare provoked Harry to take it further, drop the act, make it reality. It was then obvious that Harry was suffering from severe schizophrenia. Giving in to his urge to scare and succumbing to Frightmare, he attacked his victims. Bodies were found beaten and lifeless, with a look of pure terror stained on their face. Survivors were driven mad by fear. Day by day Harry Haunt was fading more and more. Be it Harry's schizophrenia or some supernatural cause, his character was taking control of him. Different characters joined Harry's cast as he stitched them to life. The cast consisted of: Frightmare (his usual), Soulripper (a ghost), Bloodspiller (an imp), Snarltooth (a werewolf), and Gutwrencher (a hulking beast). Whatever someones fear was, Harry had a medicine for them all.

Harry Haunt needed money to survive and to fuel his mad obsession. He costumed himself to allow his characters to do the dirty work. Robbing banks, kidnapping, assassinating, he did them all in style, using his one skill: scaring. He had become a force to be reckoned with and made a name truly to be feared. People called him Scare Tactic for obvious reasons, either believing him to be another costumed freak or an urban legend. Frightmare rules Harry's mind until the costume comes off. He has his own agenda and uses all of the other costumes as puppets in his act. There is no strand of sanity left in Harry Haunts mind anymore. No longer is Halloween the only night of fright, but for Scare Tactic every night is fair game.

Powers

Scare Tactic posseses powers from beyond the grave, perhaps from the souls of his victims.

Costumes and Personna's

For every costume that Scare Tactic has in his arsenal he has a different personna, fully becoming that character when dressed in costume.

Frightmare

Frightmare

Harry's first and most prized creation, Frightmare is the master of his twisted mind. Black and orange fabric make up the costume, the mask bears a haunting slitted grin. The head is lined with spikes. Frightmares personality is deep and menacing. Being the mental master of Harry's mind, the character itself as a lord of sorts, expecting everything and everyone to bow down to him.

Soulripper

Soulripper

A ghostly apparition, dressed in white shredded cloth. It does'nt speak, but only moans. It eerily glides above ground, seemingly lifeless.

Bloodspiller

Bloodspiller

One of the more comical characters of Scare Tactic, laughing hysterically when frightening his victims. He is obsessed with blood and carnage, hence the name. The costume resembles an imp, covered in veins, pulsating as if they actually flowed with blood.

Snarltooth

Snarltooth, the werewolf of Scare Tactic's cast. He is always on the hunt, stalking his prey for the scare.

Gutwrencher

Gutwrencher is a brute of a character. A series of cushion implants are placed in the costume to make it appear giant and hulking. Gutwrencher speaks with little vocabulary and only wants to smash things.

Theory/Legend

Fanatics of Scare Tactic believe his supernatural abilities are fueled the screams of his victims. The costumes are given their life from the souls of all his victims being sewn into the threads.

Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia (from the Greek word schizophreneia, meaning "split mind") is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a mental illness characterized by impairments in the perception or expression of reality, most commonly manifesting as auditory hallucinations, paranoid or bizarre delusions or disorganized speech and thinking in the context of significant social or occupational dysfunction. Onset of symptoms typically occurs in young adulthood, with approximately 0.4–0.6% of the population affected. Diagnosis is based on the patient's self-reported experiences and observed behavior.

Weaknesses and Limitations

Day/Light- While Scare Tactic is able to scare in the daylight, it makes it much more difficult for him to do so.

Affiliations

Frightmare has deemed it appropriate that they join the Rogues Gallery for one reason or another.

Allies

Mr. Rot: Scare Tactic (Frightmare specifically) has learned quite a bit on what it takes to be a villain from Rot, who often misguides him for his own enjoyment.

Mindswipe: One of the leaders of the Rogues Gallery, Scare is a bit skeptical on having him in charge (like any villain would be). But, Swipe finds some jobs to pull and Scare Tactic does'nt argue.

Mr. Mud: Though the two have never met in person, Mud is one whom Scare Tactic stands below in the Rogue Island food chain. He stands at the helm of the Rogues Gallery along with Mindswipe.
