Origins

Towards the end of October 2009, the leader of The Abandoned Warehouse, Erik Jameson left on vacation, appointing Chris as the de facto leader. During that time, chaos ensued, Brad, Kyle, and James (Casey's brother) all were killed. However, Brad and Kyle were revived but James was not.

When Erik returned shortly afterwards, he built himself a throne in the Warehouse. Not only that, but he claimed that people in the Warehouse would be lost without him. This began the creation of the Midnight Refuge, but the final spark was when Lia, Brad, Kyle, Jordan, Casey, and others began negotiations with the Abyss Empire. Despite the fact they were now alive, the Abyss Empire was ultimately responsible for the deaths of Brad and Kyle.

When it had looked like Lia had negotiated a deal with the leader of the Abyss, Labal, Kyle offered up his soul to get rid of Labal. But, the others, knowing Labal and his deceptive ways, disagreed. Despite warnings, Kyle continued to talk with Labal and ruin what Lia had negotiated. Finally, Casey was forced to knock Kyle out.

During this whole situation, Lia quit the Warehouse. There were mixed feelings amongst the group, but it was decided by the majority that it would be best to leave the Warehouse. Anyone from the Warehouse was free to join this new group, known as The Midnight Refuge, except for two members; Kyle and Ahna for one simple fact; they bred drama. The goal of this new group was to minimize the drama, especially considering the amount of drama that had taken place inside the Abandoned Warehouse.

Choosing to keep Chris as their leader, given his impressive dedication and displays with the Warehouse, Lia and Jordan became his right-hand women, and the three comprised the leadership body. Employing Chris' Chaser Knights as a defensive measure for safeguarding the members of the Refuge, they absorbed the remnants of the Warehouse, and began taking in new members, constructing their new home and making a name for themselves.
