Angie bounded down the stairs of her home and quickly rushed into the dining room, her parents already sitting and enjoying some Socca for brunch. Her mother raises an eyebrow at her entrance and speaks into whatever true crime book she is reading at the moment, "Another 11 am start, Angelica?"

Angie rolled her eyes, giving an exasperated, "Moooommmm, I was out, like, arresting some Hellions that were totally tryin' ta, like, burn down a parking garage." Her father smiles softly at that, "That a girl, Vi. Sit down, we still have some left for you."

And so Angie pulls out a chair, "Is it still hot, cause it's only, like, good--" but is quickly cut off by her communicator beeping at her and the voice of Statesman ringing out, "Calling all heroes, an army calling itself the Warriors rising up all over the islands of Talos and Striga. All available heroes are needed down at either of these two districts immediately."

Shooting up out of the chair like lightning, she says quickly to her parents, "Sorry, gotta go, emergency. Be back soon!" And with that she rushes upstairs to grab her armor and fly out of her bedroom window, it closing and locking automatically as she passes through it.

Back down in the dining area however, her father glances out the window and sighs softly. Her mother looks to him, placing a bookmark in her book and says, "Eric, you're the one that allowed her to go out and put on a cape."

"I know, Pru, but we had to give her some outlet. I didn't want her to abuse them." Eric frowns as he says this, his mind going to the activities he gave up 15 years before. Pru places her arm on his shoulder lightly and speaks in a soft comforting tone, "When do you plan on telling her?"

He grimaces as she asks this, frowning as he still gazes out the window, "Not yet, she wouldn't understand. I mean she's still a kid. She needs to grow up first."

"Dear," she begins, a slight admonishing tone appearing in her still comforting voice, "you've smothered her since she was born. Maybe instead of Paragon University, we could get her into a school out west. She'll grow up and be ready once she's lived alone for a while."

The scene was quite crowded in the New Corinth neighborhood that takes up a part of Talos Island. Dozens of heroes in the immediate area are all trying desperately to fight against this amazingly well organized force of what seems to be just normal humans fighting with archaic weapons. A few of the Vindicators were on hand, leading small squads of other heroes and trying to organize them all into an effective force able to counteract the Warriors.

Angie, in her armor and mask that says to the world that she is Violet Starlight, was holding her own but quickly getting exhausted. Manipulating the gravity around the Warriors, trying to make it so their bows would not shoot straight, and that their weapons, and even their legs, were too heavy to lift was taking a lot out of her. Not for the first time, she finds herself wishing that she could do more than just hold things in place.

Aurora Borealis was coordinating the group of heroes Angie was in, telepathically sending commands, organizing the troops, as it were. And due to that superior form of communication, the squad was actually managing to push some Warriors back. However the backs of the Warriors stiffened, as if they had refound their resolve and they pressed forward, an axe slamming fully through the stomach of a brightly colored hero to Angie's right.

And just then, the sky above Angie seemed to light ablaze, orange fire as far as the eye could see. She gasps up and stares at it, oblivious to the Warrior to her right swinging an axe in her direction. And at that moment she feels as if she's yanked somewhere, and suddenly the sights before her pass by quickly, as if she's flying at great speed. She closes her eyes in fright, never knowing she was just saved from being cut in half by an axe.

Eventually the yanking sensation disappeared, as suddenly as it appeared. Angie nervously opened her eyes and was greeted to a sight of a nearly empty New Corinth. No other heroes or Warriors in sight. Though she could spot some Tsoo in the distance.

And then she spots off in the distance, force fields, separating the Talos Island district from the rest of Paragon. She frowns at that, thinking to herself that maybe they went up because of the fire in the sky, despite her never having seen them before. She shrugs and starts flying home, though this takes a little bit to figure out as she didn't know about the existence of the tunnel connecting the Talos Island district from Founder's Fall. Eventually she finds the way past the force fields however.

And as she does her flyover, and fly through when it comes to that tunnel, she spots the huge increase in gang activity all throughout Talos and even Founders Falls. Figuring it's just one of those days where all the criminals are unleashing their plans at once, she flies towards her house, hitting the remote on her costume that opens up her window...

But it doesn't open in time for her to fly through it, and she quickly changes plans and lands in front of the residence, taking off one of her gloves and placing her hand on the scanner that would unlock the door.

But unlock it doesn't. A small buzzing sound was heard through the doorway and she braces herself, staring at the door, indeed the whole house, with a perplexed look on her face.

A bald white man wearing a suit and dark sunglasses opens it, "We don't allow capes on the premises," he says in a deep voice, his hand lightly stroking his holstered gun.

Angie stares at him, looking briefly lost before she recovers and stands up straight, saying in a voice that is mostly authoritative but has an undercurrent of doubt in it, "I'm here to see Mr. Bardoux."

The bodyguard continues stroking his weapon, "We don't got no one by that name here. I suggest you move along, little girl."

Angie barely nods, and finds herself flying off as ordered. Thinking she must have somehow traveled through time, she dives down to the nearest public terminal and checks the date. As she gazes at the terminal in confusion, she feels herself engulfed with flames and quickly turns around, seeing two hulking Behemoths standing before her.

Gasping in terror, she quickly increases their personal gravity, making their bodies too heavy to move and their arms too heavy to point at her and shoot fire. And then she waves a hand and suddenly both of them start coughing, quivering, one of them emanating some sickly yellow-green gas. For demons, they were both looking rather peaked.

She flies off, leaving them there, feeling rather freaked out. First by seeing that the date is in fact the same date and so she was not actually in the future, and by the sickness that overtook the two demons. She had never been able to do that before. And to add to the list of new abilities, as she flies she notices that she is leaving off a stream of bright colors as she flies through the air.

Stressed and extremely worn out by the battle on Talos and the events of the day, Angie finds her way to the Skyway City neighborhood, huddling under one of the many bridges, hiding herself as best she can amongst the detritus that litters the ares. She curls up, trying to force her mind to calm down and figure things out.

Instead she sleeps.

She wakes with a start, gasping aloud. Immediately bursting into the air she finds her way to the nearest library, and public computer system. With a hint of insight she types her name into the computer, googling it.

And what she finds confirms her new suspicions. Many entries for some villain named Crushing Violet. News stories, blog entries written by random citizens and even one site that listed her, disgustingly, as one (of many) villainesses the author claims he would like to thwart. Whatever that means.

She spends a couple of hours typing at that computer, looking up her mother (Anti mutant activist) and her father (Psychic super-villain felon). Eventually, in a daze, she walks out of the library, no one paying much attention to her despite still being in her armor.

She walks the city on autopilot for the next several hours, not even noticing the times she's had to act in self defense to stop a Skull or Hellion gang attacking her. She just completely moves languidly, eventually ending up in Atlas Park, before City Hall, and that's where her mind snaps back to reality and she realizes she needs help, lost in this new dimension with no one to turn to.

Knowing that many heroes hang out in front of City Hall, she looks before her and is even more shocked by what she sees. Three demonesses and two men in black trenchcoats who are looking quite villainous.

Frowning, unsure what to do, she eventually notices a small woman, all purple and black with white hair, sitting off to the side away from the others. Finding someone that might be an alien is far more acceptable than a dark hero or a demon, she walks towards her. Taking a deep breath, Angie shyly says, "Hello, I need some help."
